Was one of the favorite places but today encountered an extremely awkward situation. After having lunch, we asked for the bill. The waiter arrives with a bill and I tell him that I need to insert the card, NOT TAP. He gives me the machine, I insert the card and it shows error. I turn the machine to show the error message to the waiter (while my card is in the machine). And the guy TAKES MY CARD OUT OF THE MACHINE AND TAPS IT. BY HIMSELF. After I clearly said that I need to insert it. First time in my life I see a waiter taking clients card and paying with it!!!! So I asked for a manager. And to my surprise, the manager told me «we are in Dubai, it’s just a habit to tap the card”. Which I found extremely weird, as living in Dubai for more than 15 years, I have never encountered such “habits” before when someone took MY card and paid with it without my permission. And I am convinced that none of Dubai residents would agree that such behavior can be considered as a “habit”. In any case, bottom line was him telling me “there is nothing we can do now”. Where I believe they should have reversed the amount at least and let me pay in the manner I choose. Then another manager came and told me that he is gonna reverse the amount to my card. After like 15 minutes the first manager reappears with a bill cover and some cash inside and tells me “I returned your money in cash for coffee and Coca Cola”. Like seriously?! I did not ask for free coffee. I asked to respect my rights as a customer. So obviously we left without taking this “petty cash” and no money revered to the card. Bottom line: offensive customer service. Just sad, especially when it happens to friends of the owners and regular clients of the rest of the group venues. I choose. Read morehad an excellent experience at La Maison Ani in Dubai Mall. The atmosphere was elegant, and the food was absolutely delicious, from the perfectly cooked steak, to the fresh burrata salad, flavorful shrimp appetizer, and excellent spicy pizza. The menu offers a great variety of high-quality dishes, beautifully presented.
A special thank you to Mr. Adel💐 and Thank you to Aye💐, who served us during our visit. They were professional, polite, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meals. Their service added great value to our experience,
That said, I would like to kindly highlight a few suggestions that deserve attention: Please consider having a dedicated reservation desk and a separate check-in counter at the entrance to make the arrival experience smoother. Offering online booking with a small penalty for no-shows would be very helpful, especially on weekends. During our visit, many guests were waiting in a long line, while nearby restaurants were seating people much faster. Some guests left due to the wait. Please improve by eliminating the waiting time. To improve service during busy periods, especially weekends, it may be worth increasing staff capacity, even if by hiring freelancers to support the kitchen and service teams.
These improvements would make a big difference and match the high standards of your food and ambiance.
Looking forward to...

La Maison Ani is one of my absolute favorite spots in Dubai Mall, and I’ve visited more than 10-15 times just for their Truffle Tarte—it’s hands down the best! At AED 160, it’s definitely pricey, but worth every dirham for the indulgent flavor and perfect execution.
Their Lentil Soup is another standout—silky smooth, lightly spiced, and beautifully enhanced with just a touch of tadka oil. It’s simple yet so comforting. I also tried their Iced Latte, which was good.
However, not everything impressed me. The Ratatouille dish was a letdown—rather than the visually stunning version you’d expect (like in the Ratatouille movie), it came more like Indian baingan bharta in a bowl, with an overly sweetened oven tomato that threw off the balance. Not something I’d order again.
I also tried a customized pasta (spaghetti/tagliatelle with white sauce and truffle mushrooms), and while it tasted great, the price was jaw-dropping—around 10-12K INR! That said, La Maison Ani is definitely one of the most expensive restaurants in Dubai Mall, but it does offer a fantastic view of the Dubai Fountain, making it a lovely spot for a luxury dining experience.
If you’re willing to splurge, go for the Truffle Tarte and Lentil Soup—you...
