Hurricane’s Grill Dubai Mall — Restaurant in Dubai

If I’d start my review with one word “Ah-mazing” still that won’t sum up the whole experience. Located on the lower ground floor of the Dubai Mall in the row of fountain facing restaurants this fantastic restaurant serves delicious grill and steaks. They have set menu and elaborated menu as well. The choices in menu are quite extensive and yet you can ask for customisation in your selected dish. One of the best quality of this restaurant was the amazing team of the entire staff. I haven’t seen a team so chirpy and lively. Always with a bright big smile on their faces makes you feel better and comfortable while ordering. Their manager Raymond was a one fine man he kept on coming to our table and to other guests’ tables to see if everything they ordered was on point for them or not. Our server Mr. Perfect was really perfect in listening our order and we did some customisation in our food which he improvised with ease. Moving towards the order, we started as usual our dining experience with salads. We had ceasar salad and Mediterranean salad both of which were extremely fresh and tasteful. Later, we had half hunter chicken with peri peri flavor and grilled chicken breast with peri peri flavor too. Hunter chicken was very juicy and rich in taste and on the contrary grilled chicken breast was dry and yummy. In side we had French fries and mashed potatoes. For kids we ordered fish and chips and their fish was really different in taste than other fish n chip available in restaurants. In drinks we had green apple juice, pina colada and orange juice. Everything was on point m, refreshing and delectable. In desserts we ordered their macaroons fondue and Ferraro Rocher tarte. Macaroons, I found a little more sweet in taste than usual but nonetheless, it was good. Delicious food with ridiculously humongous portions! This is fundamentally why it was dropped a star.

We ordered a drink and a main dish each but was not advised by the waiter of the enormous portions we’d be expecting. This is disappointing on the service side as we hate wasting food. And like most tourists here, we didn’t stay in a hotel with a kitchen or even just a microwave to reheat the leftover food. Most of these super tender and well cooked meat just went to waste!

We think the waiters and waitresses should suggest reasonable order quantity to diners to avoid situations like this. One dishes is definitely more than enough for at least 2 people to share. It felt like they only cared about how much you ordered but not the fact that very few people can finish a portion of food by themselves. The only order we managed to finish was the side steam veggies…

Despite all the lovely meats and chips, we actually left unhappy, feeling guilty about all those food that was wasted…

Back to the food itself…the meats were impeccably succulent, they pull apart easily with a fork. The seasoning was on point. We absolutely loved the chips, they were irresistibly crispy! Not so much the sweet potato chips though, a lot of them were a little soggy.

The drinks were lovely too, perfectly refreshing for the hot weather in Dubai.

Overall, I like the spacious and comfortable dining atmosphere. The service was friendly but please advise customers on the portion sizes! Their amazing foods and drinks mean that I’ll 100% recommend it to...

My wife and I decided to go for a rather big meal as we were celebrating Easter Sunday; hence, an American Steakhouse in Hurricane's Grill!

As it was just our first time dining here, despite having seen and passed-by this establishment so many times, we opted to try their legendary steaks.

My wife had the New York Strip (New Zealand) with skinny fries; while I went for the Steak Fillet 250g with prawns with mashed potatoes.

While we did enjoy the massive servings and on-point cook on both our cuts of meat (medium or medium-rare is the only way to really enjoy steak imo), we were glad to have tried these, but it's nothing that really separates itself from other steakhouses.

It could be because we're not really fans of Worcestershire sauce (which was what we tasted in their in-house meat glaze sauce). If you like Worcestershire, then you'll love this place.

The skinny fries weren't really remarkable too, but hands down to the mashed potatoes for tasting great.

The prawns were cooked perfectly that I could still appreciate the shrimps taste.

Overall, we had a pleasant time with our meal, a calming view of the Dubai fountain, and taken cared if by our server, Gennelyn.

It's straightforward "meat and potatoes" kind of place that gives you what you ask for (and more with their serving-size).
