Unhygienic, zero customer service personality, and bad management. Moggie Teh (Manager responsible at a time) LDC JLT
I found hair in my salad while eating lunch. I informed one of the servers who attended the table. She gave us a very simple apology, and took the bowl. No alternative was suggested, and no one returned to check on the status of the remaining food.
The rest of the dish was average but edible. When paying the bill, I had to remind them that I found hair in my salad and did not eat it. Before I mentioned, there was no acknowledgement or apology from their side.
The server told us that he couldn't remove the price, but he could offer us coffee or ice cream. We have coffee and are leaving. Offering something we had when we were about to leave is neither relevant nor realistic. That 20-30 dirhams does not fill my pocket or transform my life. But at the end of the day, it's how they made me feel.
The most upsetting part was the manager (Moggie Teh) sitting in the centre of the cafe, sending the waitress back and forth with different responses rather than accepting responsibility for poor performance. At the end of the day, you represent the people you manage.
When we leave, we approached her and told her how we felt. She was always blaming and claiming she was not informed. Fair enough, the initial event was not reported to her, despite the fact that she was sitting two tables away from us and preoccupied with her phone and computer.
However, even after you were notified, we can see from 1 meter that you are sending your workers to convey messages back and forth, offering something completely irrelevant. As I have stated, the adjustment they would have made to remove the salad pay would have had no impact on my life. However, it is about accepting responsibility, being honest in your apologies, and making an attempt to regain your customer's trust.
We did not get their free coffee; we paid the full amount and did not get a proper apology. Visit day was Wednesday, 5th of...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill and could be greatly improved with polite, genuine, and well-mannered staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very rude lady (Stella) behind the counter who was unpleasant, unprofessional, and dismissive. My experience with this lady has completely put me off going back, and many others waiting for tables expressed this sentiment (i suggest this is looked into)
The food took an unreasonably long time to arrive and, when it finally did, it was mediocre at best (cold and overcooked) . The seating area is cramped, with tables packed far too closely together.
To make matters worse, I’ve had an upset stomach for days after dining here.
I use to love this place for breakfast/ brunch. This was the first time I went to the JLT branch and is nothing like the others. I won’t be coming back again.
Having read through several reviews mentioning Stella’s attitude and lack of hospitality, it’s clear that this restaurant does not take customer concerns seriously. Many others have shared experiences similar to mine, yet Stella continues to act without consideration or respect for guests.
It would be reassuring to see a response from the management that genuinely addresses these recurring issues, rather than deflecting or avoiding them. There is a clear and ongoing problem with the front-of-house service, which is consistently reflected in these reviews.
While a single complaint could be a matter of perspective, multiple consistent complaints about the same staff member suggest a deeper issue—one that urgently needs attention, or at the very least, proper...
Read moreAs you enter the One JLT building there is a sight of restaurants on both sides. And if you had a choice you would naturally turn right and enter this beautiful, fresh, bright, active, lovely, colorful new restaurant.
This new restaurant is in the ground floor with external seating facing the Al Sahel Street. Although this is a big two way road, it is nicely decorated with a lot of plants innovatively.
The seating all over the restaurant is very well laidout with different styles and to service small and big groups. It is a fantastic place for a lazy brunch on a weekend.
Their menu is extensive and presents wide options for vegetarians too. Their coffee is really good and is presented professionally.
Food is very tasty and is prepared fresh. There are cupcakes, fresh milk cakes, fruit juices, shakes, ice creams etc etc. a wide variety of items to serve a diversity of people.
There is a small stairway which would lead to a small seating to the balcony level. Very limited seating at this level.
Wheel Chair access is via the main entrance to the building. Toilets are through the reception. There is enough parking right in front of the restaurant.
Staff are very attentive, welcoming and the service is fast.
Safety CAUTION: The stairs leading to the balcony seating could pose some safety issues. The tread(stepping) width is not enough for a normal foot to rest completely, If you are wearing healed footwear, please take care while negotiating the stairs. Hope the management notes this and provides some caution...
