Mist Café Restaurant – October 17, 2024
I never expected such unprofessionalism from a place like Mist Café Restaurant in Downtown. Yesterday, my husband attended a German event community and had to use the restroom. What happened next was beyond shocking. As he entered the men’s restroom, he encountered a female cleaner who did not excuse herself from the space.
He asked her to leave because he felt uncomfortable, and after looking at him for a moment, she smiled and stepped outside. However, as soon as she heard the toilet flush, she came back in, not allowing him to finish his hygiene routine properly.
First of all, why is a female cleaner allowed to be in the men’s restroom while it’s being used? This is highly inappropriate and makes male patrons uncomfortable. When my husband stepped out, she was standing there, staring at him, and shockingly asked, “Nice t-shirt, can you give it to me?”
How is this even possible? Asking a male guest for his shirt, without respecting his boundaries or considering the situation, is outrageous. This was completely unprofessional and humiliating for my husband. I am deeply disturbed that this kind of behavior is tolerated. I question the management’s ability to train their staff properly—are the cleaners and hostesses trained on how to interact with guests, or is this kind of conduct being overlooked?
This cleaner’s actions were not only disrespectful but also crossed serious boundaries, especially since my husband is married. He even responded by saying, “Ask my wife for my shirt,” and felt harassed by the entire situation.
While the food was great and the ambiance was okay, this incident completely spoiled the entire experience.
If this issue is not addressed, I will personally visit the restaurant to ensure action is taken. No guest should have to deal with such unprofessional conduct. My husband was so upset that he called me immediately to let me know what happened. This needs to be resolved quickly!
I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant and will be spreading the word about...
Read moreA relatively new restaurant and cafe offering Lebanese and continental cuisines plus sheesha under one roof. They have a huge indoor dining area and a assive outdoor dining space overlooking the waters at the Marasi Drive.
The place is child-friendly but kids are allowed only at the outdoor non-smoking area. Pets are allowed too (outdoors).
We started off with our all-time favorites Hummus with Meat and Sujouk. The hummus with meat and pine nuts was lip-smackingly delicious. Contrary to the sujouks I’ve tried before, this was on the tangier side but I still loved the flavors.
For mains, we had a Mist Grill and a Chicken Shawarma Platter. Mist Grill consists of Kebab, kofta, Taouk, shishlik, beef brochette, hummus and garlic sauce, alongwith grilled vegetables, fried and Arabic bread. The meat was tender and flavorful and perfect for sharing.
Loved the shawarma platter. The chicken bits are from an actual shawarma setup and come with bread, fries, pickles and garlic sauce, neatly arranged on a plate. It was fun to build the shawarma at the table.
We also tried their Fattoush, tasty as always, and their hot Orange, Ginger & Lemon Tea on their recommendation. This was something new for us and I liked it. It’s a must try if you like orangey-gingery goodness.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was amazing. Didn’t try the shisha but there were lots of people who were into it. The outdoors is a beautiful place to be at, especially in...
Read moreWent for the new years service was with a large party and they split us up over two sides of the restaurant! I think they forgot to get us a table as they stuffed us into the corner and grabbed extra chairs from the back they sat 7 of us very squashed over two small square tables. Very disappointed especially at 400-600aed pp when we first placed our orders for food and drinks, the drinks didn’t come for over an hour even after countless requests, the food came after two, with the food they brought it in two seperate groups on my split up table about 20 mins apart they managed to bring the wrong things around 2-3 times for each course we still didn’t end up getting everything but got sick of the poor service and stopped asking. The quality of the food was hit or miss the salad was decent despite being wrong 3 times, I ordered dynamite shrimp that never came and my main was the steak which was very nice and cooked perfectly, other people at my table complained of cold food though, thoroughly disappointed especially at this price, atmosphere was nice but at some points the music was turned so high that it was to hear the person next to you but most of the night it was very pleasant, location was great with a great view, but everything else was really poor. Extremely disappointing and will not be returning nor will my party...
