Good evening,
I would like to make a formal complaint about the way your staff has treated my family during our recent visit to your resturant in Dubai Hills.
We have approached your resturant today (8th of May 2025) at approximately 19:10PM and your manager at the front (Philippino female by the name of Julie) saw us and we went to choose our seat - the resturant was almost empty with only 4 tables filled) and then we chose a long table at the end side of the resturant as we were with a baby and thought it’s best to keep away from the main side.
When we sat down fully; we were then approached by one of your waiters (male named Arlan) and then he said to us how many people is in your group; we replied it’s only us (me, my wife and our newborn in a pushchair). Then he told us that this table is for 6 people; which shocked us as the restaurant is almost completely empty with at least further 20-25 tables empty. I responded by saying the restaurant is almost empty so why are we been told this. Then Arlan responded that I am telling you in case we have a group then we will need to move you !!! Again, I was truly shocked how they can say this to us when the resturant is almost empty (check your cctv camera). Then when we questioned this again he proceeded to say it’s ok you can sit but if someone comes we might have to do something !!!? Again, we are shocked about this approach. We would understand if the resturant was full of even half full but the resturant is totally empty.
I then told Arlan we don’t need you to do us a favour by letting us sit here and we will not be all nervous and anxious if a group comes so you can kick us out of our table. We then asked for the manager and he went to get the manager (who is the woman named Julie), he came back and to our shock said that she is “on the phone” so can not come to us!!! Again, what kind of service you are running here. Then when she apparently ended the phone call; she came directly in front of our table and gestured with her hand to Arlan towards us; without even speaking to us or acknowledging us!! She then went to sit in another table and totally ignored us.
We then approached Arlan again and said why is she not approaching us and ignoring us and at that point we had enough and decided to leave. We left and your manager didn’t care at all and was utterly useless.
Summary is that you should never employee such unwelcoming and useless staff; especially the manager when her role is to look after your resturant name and brand. Especially with high clientele like us (who usually spend large amount of money on our outings).
I look forward to your urgent response to this formal...
Read moreFor those seeking a culinary escapade in Dubai that marries British charm with a hint of global panache, "Café Gray" in Dubai Hills Mall proves to be a rather delightful diversion.
One steps into a space where the aesthetic is so meticulously curated, it feels less like a café and more like a carefully staged vignette from a particularly chic design magazine, all subtle hues and cosy nooks that subtly whisper "Instagram Reel material." The staff, are efficient, gliding about with that effortless grace that suggests they've mastered the art of hospitality, making one feel utterly at home.
Our breakfast foray was, to put it mildly, an absolute triumph. The Full English Breakfast, a venerable British institution, arrived with all the traditional pomp and circumstance, a hearty affair that scoffed at any notion of a light start to the day. The Club sandwich, a truly massive portion of that American classic, was a multi-layered edifice of indulgence. The Avocado with feta cheese, a well-executed nod to modern Mediterranean-inspired freshness, provided a vibrant contrast. And the Potato Rosti, that delightful Swiss crispy potato pancake, was a valiant attempt at the original.
Finishing with an Espresso Affogato – that elegant Italian dance of hot espresso over vanilla ice cream – perfectly made with almond milk, was simply the cherry on top. Suffice to say, this establishment has planted its flag firmly in my dining itinerary; a return for a proper main meal is not just likely, it’s practically a...
