ZAM ZAM MANDI RESTAURANT (Al Karama) — Restaurant in Dubai

Once we came out of the Dubai Frame after spending there for a couple of hours, we felt hungry. And as we were passing by Zabeel Park, my son prompted, “Dad, can we go to the other side of the road to try out Mandi at ZamZam?” I nodded in no time. This is the first outlet at Karama centre, Dubai incepted in 2009, just beside Lulu Hypermarket.

The Karama one, where we got in, was a two-storied restaurant on the roadside with options to enjoy separate family diners as well. It was lunch time and hence we took a platter combining of Green salad, Raw Hot Chicken Soup, Chicken Mandi and then Kunafa and Sweet Balls as dessert. I find their chicken soup completely different (both in colour and taste) compared to one we’re normally acquainted with in India. This soup is light with no added spice except salt and smells raw meat. Also once you finish off this soup, you feel tremendous hungry. So, Chicken Mandi is an apt choice under the circumstances.

Now, what is Chicken Mandi? Mandi, originated from Hadhramaut, Yemen, is a traditional dish. This extremely popular staple dish in the entire Arabian Peninsula is an awesome combination of rice, chicken and a host of spices. Traditionally, Mandi is cooked in a tandoor. And hence, it is considered as healthy since it is prepared in less, or zero oil. Chicken pieces are big, nicely cooked with zero grease and hence get smothered nicely by the softest pressure of a jaw.

I had never heard of Kunafa before. It's a traditional Arabian delicacy consisting of kataifi, a spun pastry soaked in sugar syrup and stacked with cheese or other ingredients like clotted cream, almonds, pistachio, rose water, or nuts. It is popular in Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and the Balkans. You feel heavy once you take a bite. My son liked it a lot, Though find it nothing...

Customer service is HORRIBLE!!!!! Mohammad Rashid and Mohammad Shaker both was showing unprofessional and rude attitude. We like the restaurant and coming here for years, and of course we have favorite spot to sit. When we entered the restaurant, we went to our place to sit down. Mohammad Shaker with a very horrible attitude follow us and said “excuse me, where are you going? Go up” When we explained that we prefer to sit downstairs and this is our place, he was insisting and than he “make face” for us and left Unsatisfied and go directly to his colleague Mohammad Rashid and start talking about us. All this happened in front of us we didn’t sit yet. Than we decided to eat in the other restaurant, we went out and I come back directly to ask for his name, he didn’t share his name and left from me. Than I talk to Mohammed Rashid and ask again, He told me “ We are not allowed to share our names, just give a review in Google for Zamzam restaurant and that’s it” I ask about the manager, he said that there’s no manager yet. Than I ask who in charge here and Rashid said that he is in charge. I tried to explain that in customer service there is no such a things that you cannot take the person name. If I want to make a review I have a right to know who exactly make me upset. Then he said “ You can use my name Rashid” Then my husband go inside took their names and ask number for the manager. He give his phone and ask Mohammed Rashid to write it down. And he told to my husband “ Why I should write it down? you write it down!”

We called to the manager name Haroon and he listened our situation and was respectful not same like his staff. I hope you will take an action for this people, because till they are working there we will not come again. We are waiting for a call or...

Best mandi restaurant in town ❤️ Surely one of the best mandi I’ve ever had ❤️ The place is always crowded cause the taste of this restaurant is always in demand ❤️ I’ve visited al-karama branch were they have two types of seating area one is majlis and other tables n chairs Both types are spacious and clean

The service is really good despite of having crowd all the time the attend the customers very well and the serving time is less than 10 minutes. The best part about this restaurant is soup, salad, luqaimat and suleimani is complimentary ✅

They have various kinds of mandi and madhbi i love both of their servings in mutton, chicken and fish.

The meal usually starts with soup which tastes tremendous ( good for appetite )

Mandi rice is so aromatic, flavorful and cooked to perfection tastes heavenly delicious.

Mandi chicken is so flavourful, fresh, tender and cooked to perfection just love the smoky flavour
