Are you craving for vegetarian home-style yet indulgent food? Then you MUST visit House Of Dal, you will be served fresh, yummy and authentic Indian food. They use freshly grounded spices and Desi ghee in their cooking just like our moms do. We have already ordered from House of Dal a couple of times before. Dal Bhukara is their signature dish which is slow cooked for over 16 hours!!! and to mention they serve all the dishes in earthen pots which is inevitable part of the Indian culinary and when the essence gets mixed with dishes, it gives an additional taste for the dishes and on top of that, eco friendly too. Now the restaurant have been renovated with a new, fresh look. We can dine in and also have take away options are there.
They also serve breakfast which is very reasonable, so please do give a try when you’re having a busy or lazy morning.
We visited their newly renovated restaurant and ordered the newly introduced sabzis below:
🌱Dhaba Wali Dal, 🌱Kadai Paneer 🌱Tawa Chapathi
Both the Sabzis tasted so good, we could feel the freshly grounded spices and the ghee used in it.
Dhaba Wali Dal which is a Punjabi dish was cooked well, it’s consistency was thick and went well along with soft tawa chapatis. It’s also recommend to have with any pulao.
Kadai paneer is another new introduction in HOD kitchen. Loved the texture and the spices were used perfectly. Paneer was soft and fresh which had the right flavor.
Those who like homemade North Indian style food, this is the right place. Pls do visit and enjoy the taste and flavors. I know I will...
Read moreExorbitant prices and disappointing quality and portions of food. The pictures shown on food aggregators are not what is served. Paneer Tikka Masala was charged AED 64 for a full portion and is served so minimally for one person and it tasted depressing. Punchadaal was AED 40 and the quantity and taste was simple. Naan’s had no butter. The only dish that was OK was raitha, green salad and daal makhani. I was even willing to let go of quantity but the quality was bad and not worth the rates. Yesterday, was Diwali festival and I was embarassed among my guests that I chose this restaurant. My restaurant options were Art of Dum, House of Dal and Yellow Chilli. I was so glad I had my starters from Yellow Chilli and I should have gone for Art of Dum over House of Dal. I wont make this mistake again. The restaurant must have thought festival day, lots of customers on the festival, excellent timing to make gains by compromising quality and portions. As a business, value for money, service and quality should be your priorities. Anyone reading this, please dont rely on the House of Dal while entertaining guests especially if you dont know their portions and quality. Mistake I did, was take a risk and chose them to cover for dinner...
Read moreThe food is other worldly, if that world had horrible food that were overpriced. The experience was so disappointing that I’ve decided to take some time out of my day to express it.
The Bukhara dal that they keep flaunting is an average at best dal makhani, I don’t even know why it needs to be slow cooked for 16 hours, it’d taste the same if you don’t put good ingredients in it!
The paneer, was a tale of sadness and despair where paneer and the masala were forced into a relationship they weren’t prepared or willing to get into. Masala barely got cooked and paneer didn’t even have a sign of absorbing it. Why would you force such a dish into existence?
The rolls, sauly paneer roll, vada pav was a cold soulless zombie devious of amy semblance of taste.
Finally the rabdi, more like rubber in sugary milk.
Why would you take some much and charge so much money for such low par food??
I’m baffled with the advertisements and reviews. None of them match the reality.
House of dull is a more suitable name for this punishing place really. I wouldn’t recommend it to my most hate colleagues from...
