I recently visited Chef Eyad Restaurant in Sharjah and unfortunately had a rather disappointing experience. Having heard positive reviews about the place, I was eager to try it out. However, my encounter left much to be desired.

I opted for the 700g beef brisket, expecting a hearty and flavorful meal. To my dismay, the meat arrived cold and dreadfully overcooked, giving off a peculiar burnt flavor. It was evident that the dish had been prepared long before my order, resulting in dry and unappetizing meat.

Hoping for a resolution, I brought the issue to the attention of the waitress. He assured me that the matter would be addressed and promptly took the dish back to the chef. Upon its return, the brisket had been chopped into almost minced pieces and was still only lukewarm. Despite my initial attempt to tolerate the altered dish, the compromised taste and texture were undeniable.

Frustrated, I requested to speak with the manager. After showing him the dish, he acknowledged its subpar quality, agreeing that it was cold and dry. In an attempt to rectify the situation, he brought a small sample of tender and hot meat, which exemplified how the dish should have been served. Today was my worst experience at Chif Eyaf Restaurant.

The restaurant was filled with smoke and it was impossible to sit inside, so we chose the covered terrace outside. Unfortunately, the AC there was not working properly. Despite this, we decided to stay since we had come all the way from Al Ain, hoping at least to enjoy the food.

To our disappointment, the food turned out to be worse than the environment. The only option available was lamb shoulder, which we accepted. To our surprise, the meat was literally burnt on the outside. At first, I thought that was just how smoked meat looks, but the crust was so hard and burnt that it was not chewable. Underneath, the meat was very dry, making it difficult to eat. We only managed to eat like half of the portion that were edible and left the rest untouched on the plate.

When we asked for the manager, the chef himself came. After we explained the issue, he offered to bring another piece. We refused, especially since the waiter had earlier told us that this was the last lamb shoulder available. So I wonder how the chef planned to bring another one if none was left. In the end, they simply gave us the bill, which was the only thing they could do.
