I went to the comedy club on the 7th May to see the Gaz and Daz show and they were brilliant! This review is not based on them in any way. When we went to breakneck the drinks were ridicously expensive and there was no prices displayed anywhere, I also thought that the drinks we ordered (vodka cokes) weren't made properly as we became ill just after those drinks alone!
We had planned to go to another show on the 21st May, however due to unforeseen circumstances, my friends and I weren't able to attend. My friend bought the tickets months back and it was dissapointing we couldn't attend. I have given 1 star due to the absolute shocking customer service we have received just to get a refund! My friend who bought the tickets emailed breakneck twice to get a refund and was ignored. I then messaged breakneck through facebook and I too was ignored. I felt that i needed to go to the performers and they messaged breakneck for us, the day after this I recieved an message from breakneck which was quite rude and cheeky, they don't offer refunds for people that don't show no matter the circumstance and told me that the person who made the booking had to contact them ( she had done this 3 times already) Eventually breakneck responded and said again that they don't usually allow refunds but will on...
Read moreAs an Englishman visiting Scotland I felt it was a skilful array of comedians and helped me really GET Aberdeen for the first time.
The comedians I saw were a varied bunch, with different styles. Their comedy was authentic, funny, and not tediously ad nauseam (dirty for the sake of it). Their material was also relatable with only the occasional oblique reference, and some memorably funny bits.
There was an annoying heckler, who the compere dealt with well - too many times I've seen comperes just get nasty, but this compere (Gus?) dealt with him wittily and skilfully.
Compere and a couple of the comedians were excellent with audience banter. I did feel a little bit of an oddball being English as the crowd seemed to be about 97% Scottish. However the teasing about me sounding middle class was fair game and, though the audience was frosty, I felt fairly treated.
Overall: an awesome experience, and couldn't believe beer was...
Read moreThis was my first, and now last, booking with Breakneck Comedy. Got the tickets I wanted but only ever got the confirmation email. Tried contacting them to ask if any chance of transferring to another date due to illness. No response. Found clause saying could not refund (make sure you can go before booking) well you can’t know you’re going to be ill in advance. Used contact form, email and messenger but still no reply nor sign of tickets. Day before performance got email reminding of times etc. also saying ‘if can’t find tickets this email will be enough proof’ so assuming tickets never sent out in first place. Very poor service. Feel completely ripped off and not valued...
