I've been three times and gotten the fish and chips twice, which was really good, and the steak and ale pie the third time, which was amazing, even though we could tell it wasn't made there, just reheated. I was surprised the cheesecake wasn't made in-house as it was really one of the best I have had. There were two people working the last two times I went, a younger woman with long red hair who was polite and professional, and an older guy with longish hair who was less polite, and seemed annoyed that we were there, even though we were only one table out of 3 eating. Even on Christmas eve, for dinner, he seemed less than pleased to have us there. Overall it's a pretty cool atmosphere with good food.

Its very first place to visit for a drink in Aberdeen. Freezing snowy day outside but very cosy and pleasant atmosphere inside. Welcoming vibes by staff on floor but got strange look by barman. Very nice place which has a long history when googled it. I like stain glass window. Very reasonable prices. Good selection of drinks. Mostly people trying fry mars bar which got my attention. Not now but coming back later to try it. Moderately noisy but not bad either. Nice floor with good seatings which is best for big groups of people or get together. Worth a visit.

Advertised Hazyday and a free sample and on the sign said 1/3 sample. Though we were charged for this sample. When questioned we were told upper management made the decision to not actually give out free samples and charge customers. Another customer asked what we were drinking and and we told them about the situation where you are actually charged for a free pint. Member of staff then piped up and claimed that you do actually get a free taster and that they didn’t make the sign. Pretty poor to claim to offer a 1/3 pint taster then actually charge for it

I visited the place twice within a week with colleagues while we were in Aberdeen for a conference. Both times were great: great food, fantastic service. Particularly the waitress was absolutely amazing. The second time we visited, there was an accident or some sort, with ambulances arriving (do not know exactly what happened, and that is not the important part either) - the waitress (whose name I unfortunately never got) was an absolute rockstar. Keeping up with orders going out to the tables, while dealing with the situation - and at the same time being so incredibly nice. When we asked if she was okay, she sounded more worried about her manager than herself. This lovely woman deserves a bonus, a raise, a vacation - something!

Absolutely recommend. Tried the katsu chicken burger and the fish n’ chips, and both...

We had just arrived in Aberdeen for a concert the following day. I had been here a few years before but my wife was here for her first visit. The pub is on 2 levels and also has outside seating for when weather permits. A great, reasonably priced menu and a vast selection of various alcoholic and soft drinks. We had our order taken very quickly, had our drinks brought to us in a few minutes and were served our food within 10mins. Very hot, well presented and ultimately, very tasty. We paid a few pence over £20 for two meals and drinks in pleasant surroundings with friendly staff. The only downside that is really not anything to do with the venue itself was the flies. There were a few buzzing around in the place but Aberdeen itself was swarming with flies!!! I would...
