I ordered a mixed grill for a starter. It arrived within 10 minutes, some would think wow fast service, instead I thought that was very quick for something that usually takes a bit longer to cook. And I was right this mix grill was not piping hot nor sizzling, so what happened?
Having worked in the industry myself it would appear that the mix grill was cooked before or elements of the mix grill in advance and then kept in a warmer. How would you know it was in a warmer?
Not piping hot Meat tasted dry (unfortunately the lamb chops were very dry) It looked dry, no juices flowing.
I then ordered a lamb karahi apna style which was meant to be spicy, however it was not, it was more sweet than spicy. Unfortunately that wasn't the worse part, I ordered a garlic cheese nan. The cheese that was stuffed was that horrible fluorescent orange cheese, which did not go well with the nan.
We took the food to go and unfortunately it's still sitting in the fridge with us coming up with ideas on what we can do to the food to change the flavour for leftovers.
I spent close to £60 and feel like I've been scammed. What's worse was I was recommended by a colleague who said it was the best in Aberdeen.

Read moreLocated in the heart of King Street, Lahore Karahi is an absolute gem of a restaurant. The menu offers a wonderful array of tantalizing dishes, but the star of the show, without a doubt, is their Chicken Karahi. Bursting with authentic flavors and spices, this dish was an absolute sensation. The tender chicken cooked to perfection combined with the rich, aromatic spices left my taste buds dancing in delight.

Read moreLahore Karahi in Aberdeen left much to be desired. The overall experience was quite underwhelming.
The service was slow and inattentive, with staff seeming disinterested in providing a pleasant dining experience.
The food itself was disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor and depth, leaving us craving for more. The ingredients appeared mediocre, and the presentation was lackluster. What they served as ‘karahi’ to a seasoned foodie was just a curry and nothing to write home of. The BBQ was slightly better, but it couldn’t make up for the other dishes that were in the order! The food left very much to be desired.
The atmosphere itself was dull and uninspiring, lighting was just off, seating uncomfortable and space felt cramped, further diminishing the overall ambiance.
Lahore Karahi failed to live up to its reputation, and we left feeling unsatisfied. If you're looking for authentic and flavourful Pakistani cuisine in Aberdeen, it's best to explore...
