Me and my partner came here for Valentine’s Day, the place looked very nice online and the menu looked good, however this was not a nice experience. Firstly the staff seemed very untrained and had a lack of common decency or general customer service I.e we were stared at blankly when saying we had a reservation, we were not seated with menus, and throughout our meal different servers would walk up to our table within 2 yards and just look at us without saying anything and hurriedly walk away, before another member of staff would do the same less than 5 minutes later. The food wasn’t particularly hot - it was all tasty though. However, with our main courses the women put our food down, began walking away and then turned n said “oh parmesan and pepper” my partner asked for Parmesan please, so this waitress returned with a bowl of it and a spoon and said “just say when to stop” before abruptly throwing two heaped table spoons onto her meal, the waitress then threw a spoonful on my plate, I had tried to say no when she turned to me but that didn’t stop her in anyway. Following on from this while me and my partner were trying to enjoy our meal and chat, another member of staff walked up tried to take our plates before we had finished eating, i said no thank you we are not finished, so then 2 minutes later another waiter walked upto us and just looked at us and hurried away, this happened a few more times before we had finished eating which irritated and pressured us. We were told when reserving we had 2 hours maximum at our table, well after 30 minutes we felt very rushed and uneasy with how the staff treated us and just stared at us awkwardly. I do not know if it was just a bad night for the waiting staff or they were untrained but it really was terrible service which is a shame because the...
Read moreWe've talked about going to Mi Amore for years. Glad we finally went. The ambiance and atmosphere was really good. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. We started with the House Pate and King Prawns with cherry tomatoes & garlic in a red pesto and tomato sauce. The Pate came with a salad and 3 decent sized toasted ciabatta. Ample pate for the 3 slices of ciabatta and it was enjoyed. Initially I thought my prawn dish was far too salty until I introduced the Garlic ciabatta it came with, to the sauce and the balance was almost perfect. Mains of Ravioli Porcini & Prime Fillet Steak. The ravioli and sauce was really nice and my partner would recommend it. The fillet steak was served with crispy roast potatoes a confit tomato, 3 mushrooms and roast veg. The steak was very nice and tender. The roast tatties were really crispy and worked well. The confit tomato was lovely and the mushrooms were tender and tasty. The roast veg was slightly underdone for my taste, but did not take anything away from the dish. My partner decided on having a Latte only, which she enjoyed. I had the Dolce Al Caramello for desert. A sponge pudding with a creamy caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. The sponge was light and the caramel sauce was a delight and worked really well, as did the fruit and cream it was served with and 2 Rossini chocolate curls. With 2 pints of Birra Moretti, 1 Soda Water & Lime and 1 Blue Wkd came to under £80 which we thought was very reasonable and we can't...
Read moreFirst time visit to Mi Amore for a family lunch, very nice decor and nice seats, we were seated on the ground floor through the back and were quickly served for drinks, ordered what was a nice bottle of savion blanc, shared a breaded calamari starter which we didn't wait long at all for and came with salad and 2 dips, Marie Rose and a tomoato based one, nice!. My daughter went for a plain cheese and tomato pizza, my Mrs asked if mussles can be done as a main and they duly obliged, I went for a seafood risotto done in white wine sause and saffron, (or you can have it done with a tomato sause) which had mussles, monkfish, calamari and prawns. Everyone's was delighted with their food, my daughter said it was probably her favourite ever pizza and I had a slice and can vouch for it being very tasty indeed. The price for main courses is very reasonable averaging £15. Lots of choices, pasta, risotto, pizza, steaks. Service was spot on and again we didn't wait long at all for our food which was delivered by pleasant staff. There are several dishes that I mulled over so we're definitely returning in the near future. Highly recommend this Italian restaurant, its a very nice place to be...
