Response to owners feedback: Thank you for responding to my review. I appreciate your perspective. However, I want to reiterate that during our visit, we were not informed that our table would be needed back by a specific time until we were asked to vacate the table with only 5 minutes' notice. Given the situation, I believe our request for a refund for the drinks we had just purchased was reasonable and appreciate that part being handled well.
That said, the overall handling of the situation did not meet my expectations for customer service. It's disappointing to receive a defensive response that doesn't address the core issue or seek to remedy the situation. I hope you can consider this feedback constructively and look into ways to improve interactions with customers in the future.

We've been to Noose & Monkey quite a few times recently and have really enjoyed our food, drinks, cocktails, service, and the overall atmosphere.
We had become big fans, recommending the place to friends and family. Unfortunately, that changed today, which is why our overall rating is 1 star instead of 5.
We decided to pay our bill as we considered leaving to watch football at home. However, we changed our minds, stayed, and got some additional drinks from the bar.
About 10 minutes later, the manager, who had just served our drinks, came over and said they had taken a booking and we needed to leave in 5 minutes. We said we would be leaving within 30min at end of half time (5:45pm) however they insisted we leave.
We were confused. The manager used the poor excuse that because we had paid our bill, the till marked our table as available, and they had taken an online booking.
I know for a fact this wasn’t true. Instead of being honest and admitting they had a walk-in customer waiting and had promised our table without asking us if we were leaving, they chose to upset a repeat customer with their weak excuse.
We had to demand a refund for our drinks as we were not prepared to rush through them, which they did refund.
There were many ways to handle the situation, but the one they took has left us with an extremely unpleasant experience and really disappointed ! one we certainly do not want to repeat. We won’t be in for Sunday lunch tomorrow, nor back...

The staff are the true stars here - friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating an outstanding dining experience. Their proximity to His Majesty's Theatre makes it the perfect pre-show or post-show destination, and they've even hosted numerous celebrities over the years. What truly sets The Noose and Monkey apart is its unique character. Established in 2000, the bar has a fascinating history - even its name comes from a quirky tale of Napoleonic War-era fishermen! With consistently great food, an unbeatable atmosphere, and a welcoming vibe, this is undoubtedly Aberdeen's most beloved local pub. A must-visit for locals and...
Read moreWe walked in on a Tuesday night when the place was nearly empty without a booking, only to be told (kind of rudely) that they were fully booked that night. Alright, that’s fine, we then made a booking for Wednesday for dinner, lo and behold they were completely unbooked, and got seated fairly quickly. We then waited almost an hour for our one appetizer, mussels, which were enormous. For those unaware, typically the smaller mussels have a much better flavour. They were also in this weird super thick cream sauce and were just generally low quality. We then waited almost another 40 minutes for our mains, which were utterly disappointing. My mother’s was the wrong dish entirely (thankfully this was corrected fast). The risotto was essentially just normal rice that had been absolutely smothered in black pepper to the point that it was the only identifiable flavour, and the ribeye steak on top was grey and had no char or flavour. The nachos were soggy almost immediately and the cheese wasn’t very melted. The salmon prawn salad was alright, but was mostly salmon and not enough greens. The burger and chips were actually great, no complaints there, which is the only reason they get 2 stars for food lol. Overall, a wholly disappointing experience, from the wait staff to the kitchen times to the food. Would...
