What happened to this place?! This used to be my favourite place in Aberdeen, been coming here for years. There used to be amazing food, staff and events. Second time in a row,my order got messed up,which I don’t really understand-how can you possibly mess up a double espresso,it’s the easiest order to make! Every time I come here, there’s new staff here, and have to say, very unprofessional. Chatting between each other, rather than cleaning the tables (there’s always dirty tables around!) or serving customers and is it absolutely necessary to touch your hair when you are handling food? What happened here, there used to be beautiful raw cakes and Sunday pancakes and sugarfree options? Now - pastry and cakes that taste the same-of coconut. I understand that coconut oil is a good vegan replacement for butter, but even the chocolate frosting taste of coconut. The dying plants in the windows are a good representation of the current state of this...

I really didn't want to like Foodstory. I've managed to avoid it since it opened and had no intention of visiting. It's a veggie restaurant, I'm not a veggie.

Due to a visiting friend having a food malady I found myself in Foodstory expecting tofu slices and flax juice. I am a devout carnivore. Don't get me wrong, I often eat veggie at home but the joy of going out for food to me is the huge steak, fresh caught fish or rare burger.

Foodstory was busy given our very late lunchtime but we were welcomed and served quickly by a young waitress.

Our group ordered Thai curry, salad and I had the falafel and mango flatbread with superfood salad.

I'm not going to review each bite but the food was stunning. The flatbread alone would have been sufficient but the salad was amazing. Fresh, full of flavour and very filling.

Lunch was £30 for 3 with coffees and...

Got voucher for this Cafe as a gift and was excited to try the Vegan Experience. Went to Foodstory 11am Tuesday 26th. There were a number of people in the place but found a spare table - the only one left in the place that did not have uncleared plates of food. Went to the till to order and was completely ignored but two members of staff that were chatting with friends infront of the paypoint. The only person that appeared to be doing any work at all was a chap making coffee. The 2 chatty staff then proceeded to serve their friends whilst continuing to ignore the fact that we were stading waiting to make an order. Did we complain? .. In short No as food looked less than appealing so we left and have gifted the voucher to someone we don't really like.

Certainly won't be darkening the doors of the this disorganised overpriced...

This place is amazing, I'd say a top spot to visit as a tourist. It's definitely made special by the excellent staff - the owners ought to hold on to the very chatty local guy with a beanie. The food is incredible - so flavourful and rich, totally worth what it costs. Allergen-friendly, good for breakfast lunch and dinner. Obadiah coffee is in the hopper, made well. The grocery corner stocks a variety of vegan-friendly snacks and ingredients. The interior is very cozy and roomy, the floor is well laid-out. Nice chill music, not too loud, affords comfortable conversation even if you sit close to a speaker. There is also free WiFi, I imagine it's a good spot for some laptop work. There is no stair-free entrance that I could see. There are two front entrances with two small steps each. Will definitely be back when I'm next in Aberdeen.

Food Story is one of my favourite places in Aberdeen. Great for food, cakes and good coffees/ smoothies and teas! It's one of the best places to go if you want something healthy as they have a large range of fresh salads - the only place in Aberdeen I know that does salads like it! It's also got a great community atmosphere and holds great events like gigs, music sessions, and community events. I love joining in the music sessions, it feels like you are part of a big family! I also love the continuous innovation that's going into developing the place such as cheese and wine nights on a Monday, or pancake Sundays! As well as the SOUP events held there and the local food market on the street outside. Food Story is a great community hub! Join in, you'll be welcome!

A great central cafe for meeting friends, working, relaxing and of course eating the amazing vegetarian food on offer. Overall service is friendly though not necessarily attentive or engaging. The atmosphere is pleasant with good ambient chill out music. Additionally, there's a great selection of herbal teas, natural products and fresh produce to purchase. Photos include: Mushroom Sourdough Toast - A beastly and beautiful breakfast sure to fill you up. Pumpkin Spice Latte (Decaf) - a yummy hot drink with a slightly alternative taste to the usual coffee = £15.50 Finally, the warm Cinnamon Buns are pretty delicious 😋🥮☕
