Went here for evening meal when visiting Aberdeen recently. I ordered the 10 oz rump steak and asked fir it medium to well done. When it came, it was medium rare, big no no for me, a lump if bloody neat on my plate hubby took it back only to ask them to cook tge steak a bit longer, but nooe they wouldn't do that, they ordered me a complete new meal. When the young lady brought it, she apologised fir the 1st one, nice touch. The bar man who took my order initially then came up to ask if everything was okay and again apologised. I cannot fault them for their customer service and the 2nd steak was delicious. Well done The Foundry, you certainty put your customers first.

As a single person who likes a pint and a read of a paper I am always wary about going into a pub as there always seems to be someone that won't leave you alone, but not here.I got a lovely seat by the humongous window fight on the junction so not only did I get left in peace,it was entertaining to watch the world go by.I enjoyed a lovely chicken/Mac&cheese burger.Would recommend coming in for a bite or you can watch some sports(they haven't got many TVs😉)My ONLY observation was I booked a table on there website but they wouldn't allow for just 1person so had to book for 2.Nevermind,maybe next time it will be for 2.

Plenty of screens, you definitely won't miss a goal! 😅 loads of seating, very varied bar, and a pool table too. Same menu/chain as Slains Castle, so the burning hot burger is recommended as it's like being physically attacked by food. Note they are closed for refurbishment 8th Oct 2023 reopening 27th Oct 2023

If you like sloppy service, rude and inept management who have absolutely no customer service, or empathy for good service then this pub is definitely worth a closer look.

Went there yesterday for a meal with my partner. Ordered food from a apparently dim-witted barmaid who asked me for the table number 3 times! Even then she managed to get it wrong!

Waited 30 minutes for the food, no show, so I went to the bar. The dim-wit ran away! I eventually spoke to a woman who claimed to be the duty manager.

She made some lousy excuse for failing to deliver claiming I had given the wrong table number! NO I didn't your barmaid did!

The duty manager made her poor customer service even worse by deducting the drinks from the amount refunded. Yes, it's true we did buy drinks, but as part of a meal! We didn't get the meal, and in any reasonable establishment the management would have attempted to put things right, including a full refund. Apparently this is not the policy in The Foundry where the order of the day is inept service, followed by poor and management who appear to have contempt and are certainly not empathetic to their customers, perhaps the one less sleep (from the introduction to BST) had severely affected the manager's ability to cope with a simple matter?

She refused to give me the name of the chain, claiming she couldn't leave the bar - funny that as before she came to the bar, she had been wandering around the pub with apparently nothing to do!

So definitely a pub worth staying clear of unless you like to be blamed and receive poor service.

Incidentally, they also fail to provide receipts! Perhaps because the receipt would prove they are the incompetent ones, rather than...

I was in Aberdeen for three days with some friends and we were looking for a good spot to relax, enjoy a Scottish atmosphere and have a good drink. We found the Foundry based on what seemed like good Google reviews. I called them to see if they had space for pur group and the first red flag appeared. I couldn't hear the receptionist over background noise from the restaurant. I chalked it up to be bad reception and my American phone service. Once we entered the restaurant, the problem was immediately apparent: the volume from their speakers was blasting to the point we couldn't talk to each other. The trebile was WAY too high for those speakers. We decided to give it a chance, maybe it will turn down. Wrong. All night the speakers blared horribly high pitched songs. We also tried their food to attempt for a decent meal. I tried the pie platter that had their steak and ale pie and a hunter chicken pot pie. After a 15 minute wait, two pies that were obviously served from frozen prepackaged pies were served to me with a pittance of chips and a bland gravy. My group also ordered the mac and cheese burger. To their dismay it was bland and horribly prepared with hardly any vegetables on the burger and the meat was another frozen patty. I highly regret going to this location giving me and my friends hearing damage for the rest of the evening and stomachs full of food we could have easily prepared in our hostel for less money. Never...

Yesterday brought us yet another amazing Boogie in the Bar , with more and more newcomers appearing from all walks of life , keen to sample the music , dancing and company which this monthly event brings . For those not familiar , this is a monthly daytime disco aimed at those who love to dance or listen to upbeat music in the company of likeminded individuals . It is for everyone , so the Boogie has evolved into a very safe place even for those who generally might find themselves excluded from such an event. All this is down to the amazing team at the Foundry , headed by Manager Kieren , and Melissa . Their kindness and support is second to none . The effort they go to each month , to make each Boogie special , is so heartwarming . It’s a joy to see what outfit Dave is dressed up in ! He never lets us down 😆. The meals provided ( paid only by voluntary donation) are fabulous . What a chef !!!. I can’t praise this place enough . Check it out and see...
