Sushi Den — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

We have been to the Sushi Den a few times for takeout a few times and have highly recommended it to friends - who have all agreed that the food is amazing. We decided to book a table and eat in the restaurant this time for a birthday meal and brought some family with us. We were all delighted with the food and the atmosphere, everything was fantastic. The owners and chefs Jerry and Alicija are fantastic, so friendly and very accommodating - if there is anything you don’t like then they will offer suggestions. They are both very passionate about their work which you can see by the amazing flavour combinations, textures (I’ve never had crispy onions on sushi before and it was delicious!) and the presentation is beautiful. We had the miso soup, homemade chicken gyoza with a really delicious sauce and a sharing plate of various rolls with tuna, salmon and prawn (sorry I can’t remember the name from the menu but I’ve attached a photo). My favourite is definitely the Kanoko seared salmon! And if you can, try Jerrys Ninja brewery beer! We will definitely be back...

5 star food! 1 Star delivery 1 Star communication

Ordered here with flat mate a couple of times and most of the times the delivery is late (person on phone blaming website problem, there was one hour difference) or 20 mins early the scheduled arrival time (you could be waiting in toilet while they’re already outside for all you know. promised to be back within 20 mins but my sick flat mate is standing outside for 50 mins now and still waiting). I suggest you go buy in the restaurant yourself. But this store is not where you should buy for deliveries. It’s too unreliable. Don’t order delivery here. There is never a smooth delivery experience here with us. Despite us trying over and over to see maybe it’s just one time that they have issues. It’s all of the time. Food is fresh quality so giving two stars instead of one.

Edited to one star. She’d been outside waiting for an hour now. She thinks it’s her fault that the delivery was 20 mins late and she wasn’t ready. Shame...

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I could eat everything in this restaurant. Me and my partner are extremely picky eaters - when we eat out, we don’t like to be disappointed, especially if it’s food you could have gotten better somewhere else or done something better yourself. Well, I’m blown away by how good everything was. We tried 4 different types on the menu: millionaire, den roll, citrus, sake masago and kanoko seared salmon (this one was insane). I initially planned on just having two platters but just kept adding more until I couldn’t physically eat any more. The owners are also lovely and very charismatic, taking the time to explain everything and have a lot of attention to detail, which a lot of places fail to do. The music is good and decor is on theme but also contemporary, not stuffy at all like some places.
