The Bouncer(doorman) at the door refuses us entry, he claimed what we were wearing was too much for The Albyn Bar & Restaurant.
This is a very strange behavior/rule if this is what the owner has instructed the bouncer to do as part of his job as a doorman in his absence.
To my understanding, everyone who is level-headed, not drunk nor misbehaving, and well-put together are all welcome to Bars/Restaurants
I mean what we wore that evening was very appropriate and very classy together with expensive covered jackets and nice shoes plus we were there for a special night and shouldn't be rejected at the door base on what we were wearing.
Prior to stopping at Albyn we were at other nice places and were welcome with a smile, starting from the doorman to the people at the bar. Everyone was happy and very welcoming till we got to The Albyn.
And to be honest this really didn't bother us as we said ok after he told us not to and went elsewhere and we ended up having a fantastic time for the rest of the night.
For this reason, This will be our last time ever visiting The Albyn for getting together of any kind and going forward will only go to where we are...

We were a group of four dining in Aberdeen, with one of us visiting for the first time from the Netherlands. While the service was good, the food was a big letdown.
We all ordered dishes from the Asian-inspired options, but every single rice dish was undercooked. I had the Nasi Goreng, which completely lacked flavour and had a watery, unpleasant consistency. My partner had the Thai Red Curry, which was served with undercooked âcoconut riceââbut there was no coconut taste at all, which was really disappointing.
Due to a second reservation at 10pm, we only sent back his dish as it was the worst. Unfortunately, when it came back, the rice was rubbery and still not rightâno real improvement.
Overall, it was an absolutely disappointing experience and not the nice dinner we hoped and really looked forward to, especially for someone visiting Aberdeen for the first time. Sadly, we wonât...
Read moreLoved my 50th birthday experience at The Albyn. Decor and atmosphere is lovely and the place is immaculate. Especially the restrooms. The owner was so welcoming and so attentive to our group and his staff a credit to the overall experience. The food was amazing and by far the best meal Iâve had in Aberdeen in a very long time. The pork belly was sooooo good. The only areas of improvement for me would be the music. A place as sophisticated and ambiant as The Albyn lends itself to a better playlist and a slightly lower volume. Also the one thing I was looking forward to was a mojito and they had no mint. However, despite this I would still rate Albyn 5 stars and would highly recommend you visit. Thank you Team Albyn for making a special birthday a special experience. ...
