Into the Blue is a family run restaurant located at Shoreham by Sea, near the waterfront. The restaurant is run by Jacqui whilst her husband David is head chef. The restaurant specialises in seafood.
Pros: Simply put. The restaurant is amazing. Jacqui and her team are friendly, welcoming and provide phenomenal service that makes you feel perfectly at home. Whilst David's team in the kitchen have impressive culinary expertise! I would highly recommend sticking to the specials. The scallops in a goat cheese sauce was incredibly complex, while the cod in a Mexican style with the refried beans showed an impressive originality, creativity and was oh so tasty. The fruit de mer was fantastic too! The portions a good size, offering fantastic value for money! I was especially impressed by the local Sussex vintages offered on the wine menu. No wonder Into the Blue was runner up in a 2020-2021 Sussex culinary competition! To be fair, they deserve to win it!
Cons: None really. The tables are a touch small, but this is entirely understandable as the restaurant is not huge, and thus I do entirely agree and understand that larger tables are probably not appropriate for their establishment.
To summarize, Into the Blue is a family run restaurant located in Sussex which specialises in fresh and local Seafood (eg. Sussex lobsters from June onwards during the summer). The service is top notch, the dishes tasty, and offering impressive value for money as well! If you like seafood, and live somewhere between the Midlands and the English Channel, stop looking. This is THE seafood restaurant for you. I can't wait to visit Into the Blue again! I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Keep up the good work Jacqui and David! Congratulations to you and your team for running such a top...
Read moreWe was staying locally and I was determined to find a nice seafood resturant and found this 10mins from where we were which was perfect. After reading the reviews and also being reccomended on a local Facebook group I had to book it. When we arrived my first thought was oh my, it's tiny! We at first walked straight past ut, But, dont let that put you off! , it's actually a really intimate, cosy setting. It was completely booked up, which speaks volumes itself. The staff are so very friendly amd welcoming, making the effort not only to serve us but to engage and laugh with us. The food was incredible! I had seafood and my husband fillet steak. It was just melt in the mouth! So tasty and full of flavour. Lovely fresh oysters too! Great wine too! We really enjoyed are time there and will definatley visit again when...
Read moreWe went with some friends who are local and wanted to come here for quite some time. I found the food good but nothing special, perhaps I was expecting the produce to be fresher? Or perhaps cooked with less condiment so I could taste the flavour? We got some starters to share and I was very disappointed with the squid,I felt it wasn't fresh, very chewy some parts and hard others. My main was a buyavesse and pretty poor execution compared to others that I've had in France or Spain, although the fish in this main dish was better. Hospitality was top notch, we even got a complementary drink at the end. Also desserts, a bit meh, nothing special if you ask me. I got the Eton mess and pretty poor for £7 dessert, I felt nothing on that desert was home made. I would go once to try it but I wouldn't repeat...
