Good food but could be more professional

I visited Sunday 20th July at about 5.30pm and I have to say, the food itself was really tasty, fresh and cooked well, I really enjoyed it. The place looked a bit closed at first because the lights were off, which was a bit confusing, but once inside, it was clean and the service at the till was polite and friendly.

However, my experience could have been better, my sister noticed that a staff member was picking her nose and later vaping while preparing food. I didn’t see the nose picking myself at first, but i did witness the vaping while cooking. It did put me off. I didn’t say anything at the time because the staff were otherwise polite and the food was genuinely nice.

A bit more attention to hygiene and professionalism would make this chip shop perfect because the food quality is...

We ordered from here lots of times as it's the only fish and chip shop that delivers to us. Every time the chips are overcooked and a number of times the chicken and mushroom pies have had to be sent back as they are rock hard wouldn't even feed my dog it . Should have learned from the previous times but yes we ordered from here again tonight ,the chips are overcooked most un edible a burnt sausage and the chicken and mushroom pies is non existent. So I phone the shop up to complain and the man who answered hung up on me , wasn't even man enough to listen to me tell him how poor his cooking skills are . I was initially tempted to say, “you can’t go wrong with fish and chips by the seaside”, but quite frankly, you can. Bad/cold/overly soggy chips and light-box heated fish does not make for a good meal. Thankfully, you can’t go wrong at Ropetackle. Between the proximity to the beach, the quality of the food and the damn deliciousness of the chips, you really have no excuse not to monitor the weather and b-line for Ropetackle as soon as it gets balmy.
