Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Arun

THOMAS (Manager) YOU'RE TRULY TALENTED!

Took a visit to Costa in Littlehampton, greeted by Thomas and Joseph, handing out free samples in the High Street. Went inside to Costa to order a few drinks, and the staff was very accommodating and efficient.

My daughter went up to Thomas to ask for a flower garland (flower necklace) as she took a liking to the Costa staff members' garlands.

Thomas went away and came back with a garland for my daughter, very thoughtful!

While my family and I were dining, we observed Thomas, and he took the time to speak with other customers, getting to know them personally and bringing drinks over to them.

Thomas, you have a brilliant team around you. Should you set up your own coffee shop, please let the community know as I would certainly support your business! You will go far in life, and I do hope Costa head office/senior management recognises your skills, kindness, and overall the professionalism you have kindly demonstrated to myself and to other customers today. It is a breath of fresh air to see you have a fantastic moral compass, treating others with respect, going the extra mile.

My husband and I went in for a morning hot chocolate this morning. All be it, the hight of rush hour and they were extremely busy which I appreciate. However, you had 3 girls serving/making the drinks and every new order that came through, they were bickering like teenage sisters in front of a large backed up queue of valued customers. Not only this, there was absolutely no service with a smile, no politeness from them, Georgia especially, who also appeared to be very snappy at the other 2 girls and customers. A man with not very good English, tried to pay for his coffee in small change and she refused. After a while, she took the money and every couple of minutes, shook her head and made it very clear she was unhappy. We often go this store and have never had any problems. But today whilst we were there we noticed a lot of little black flies about where we were sitting. As we were sitting near the bin we thought they were maybe coming from there so moved to another table but there was still some there. I went to inform a member of staff and I saw some there I explained about the flies and she walked away. I thought she was maybe going to inform a senior member of staff and that they would come to speak with us. No-one came to see us.
