Amy's Pantry is a very unique place, it has a wonderful atmosphere and is nicely presented with it's old rustic Kentish farm decor. There are lots of other items to buy here over and above just the menu. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive, the menu was an interesting mix of a little Nouvelle Cuisine in it's presentation but the food is most definitely English and everything is sourced from local producers. They have made it dog friendly, so if you happen to be passing through and you have your faithful friend with you, it will not be a problem. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and couldn't be faulted, portions are a little on the small size and I am not a big eater, however, this did lead me to question the prices. I am not saying that it is extremely expensive, but based on what you actually got made me feel it was edging on the pricey side. I mentioned that Amy's Pantry is dog friendly, this is great, however, I did feel that there should have been greater separation between the people with them and those without. I deducted 1 star for this exact reason as whilst I was eating I was having to put up with someone's dog that was trying to constantly beg for my food. I understand that it is down mainly to the owner of the dog to restrain it, however, I did feel that there should be a greater separation of those with and without dog's. I love dogs but I don't want them coming around my table and begging for food whilst trying to enjoy my meal. Hopefully this review will be of some help to the proprietors and be taken as constructive criticism. So in summary this is a cozy and well though out and interesting place to eat, the food is excellent, although not cheap and portions need to be looked at in my opinion along with a greater separation for those with dogs and those without. I would still recommend Amy's Pantry if you are looking for something a...
Read moreI visited here with my best friend from our school days, we hadn't seen each other for quite a few years and each had driven over an hour to meet up, so it was important we had a nice brunch. I'm so glad we chose Amy's Pantry. The staff were delightful, very friendly and the service was super efficient. We both had the Vegan breakfast, which was served piping hot and we both thoroughly enjoyed. My drink was the most delicious mango and coconut sorbet, so tasty and refreshing. Prices are spot on, as were the portion sizes. The atmosphere is really pleasant with interesting decor, tables are well spaced out so you don't feel cramped. A delightful place which I would highly recommend and as Arnie says,...
Read moreI have just moved into the area and visited the cafe for the first (and last) time just before 11.30 on Christmas Eve. I was told by the waitress she would be with me in a minute. Five minutes later she asked what I wanted, I asked if they were still doing breakfasts, to be told bluntly...No. I wouldn't have minded if the cafe was full, with a queue....but it wasn't.....or if the waitress had been nice, or offered a bacon or sausage sandwich as a compromise. Amys hospitality was not what I expected from a local cafe. Fortunately Tenterden is full of classy tea rooms and coffee shops, so Amy's will...
