I had never been to a Nando's before so this is my first visit review. I was surprised how busy it was, so I guessed that it must be popular, I had to wait 15 minutes for a table to become available, that wasn't too bad as we grabbed a drink and sat outside. It is a sizable restaurant and there are quite a lot of staff, we were called when our table for 5 adults became available. Then this is when it lost 1 star, no explanation as how to order, luckily we had one of my nieces with us and she had been to a different Nando's many times before. So, everything is done on your mobile phone, scan a barcode on the table and create an account to be able to proceed, if my niece hadn't been with us we wouldn't have had a clue as to how you place and pay for your order, maybe I am just getting old and I am out of touch with the new protocol's. After having a guided tour of what was entailed we placed our orders and the food and drinks started to arrive, this was staggered and we all started eating at different times, the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I don't like the fact that you have to create an account and provide your email address just to order food, this I fear will lead to a barrage of emails from partner companies etc. What happened to the good old waitress/waiter service? they brought the food and drinks to the table, so why can't they just come to the table and take the order? Some of you may read this and say "this guy is out of touch" maybe I am and I will take that comment on the chin, however, what about the older generation that still don't have mobile phones? Read moreFirst time in Ashford with my family group. We arrived at this Nando's at about 9.15. I am extremely disappointed with the poor and lack of customer service we received. Our group consisted of 10 people. We ordered our food and it came in three stages. The first four orders came within 25mins. The next two orders came later in 55 minutes and the last four orders came in 1hour and 25minutes.
There was no communication, no apology or explanation by any member of staff until we decided to complain about the length of time we were waiting. Staff at this particular Nandos must treat all customers with the respect they derserve and deal professionally with customers complaints and dissatisfaction. In all of this Nando's has failed in all areas and failed in making our visit a good experience.
Can I also point out that 10 people cannot share an empty bottle of tomatoe ketchup between them! A member of staff told a member of our group that's what we had to do. After protesting she opened a drawer that had crates of full bottles of tomato ketchup. This is totally unacceptable and extremely rude.
Clearly the staff are being trained or should I say not trained in any instance to deal with customers in a professional manner. The Manager of this particular Nandos should have acknowledged our concerns and complaint and should have taken responsibility for the whole situation. He let us down and the company he represents.
I wouldn't have given any stars but my chicken was cooked very well.

Read moreVery very poor service! Having a party of 10 individuals, three orders arrived to the table within the first 20 minutes. From there on in it seemed as though the remainder of us had been forgotten about. Having ordered a drink the staff had to be reminded of this after 20 minutes to which the response was that this had been forgotten on the order.
Having waited approximately 40 minutes for the food to arrive there happened to be one dish missing. I was not impressed so had a quiet word with the shift manager. I stated I would give him the time and space to digest what I had discussed with him about the slow service and possibly seek an amicable resolution to this.
After finishing my meal I approached the manager who became very defensive and took the stance on simply focusing on the fact that one of the dishes was brought to the table and staff were told that this particular dish had not been ordered. In being honest this dish could have belonged to anyone as it was incomplete coming without the garlic bread! He failed to answer my simple question asked as to if waiting over 40 minutes for the meal to arrive was reasonable.... Through his very own ignorance he did not want to acknowledge the simple fact that the food was served very late, to which I personally feel the rest of the staff team were fully aware of this as they seemed very sheepish around our party
