White Horse — Restaurant in Babergh

I went here to see an excellent local band City Sounds on a Saturday night. Entered at around 20.45 and it was deader than disco! I had no been in here for around 30 odd years and back then it was rammed to the rafters. During the course of the evening it was clear it was a pass through pub as small groups come and went. The bar staff were OK but lacked any spark that one would expect from a town centre pub. The drink prices are what I would consider above average and considering there is a much much cheaper chain pub literally 2 minutes walk away then this place lacked a hook. If I was passing here and see empty chairs and bar space on a Saturday night, I'd swerve it and move to another with what this place clearly lacked, atmosphere. I have not eaten here to cannot comment on food prices or quality so will leave that for other fine reviewers. Was nice to see a collection organised for my large brother in law Steve Ralph for a memorial bench so I passing or popping in please donate eat...

Great pub, great food, great service. Been there a few times in recent weeks for both drinks and or food. Went for our works meal in March and the service was among the best I’ve received anywhere. The staff were super attentive, youngsters get a bad wrap these days but the staff members who looked after us were magnificent. Always on hand to ask if drinks were wanted, anything to go with the meal and just general help. A real credit to the pub. The food is very nice, served in good time, served by staff who look like they enjoy being there. A good selection of draft beers and bottles too.

The takeout burgers are perfect! (and the onion rings!) The White Horse has managed to adjust brilliantly during this difficult time for public houses. We were the first delivery they did since rolling out their takeout menu and I couldn't fault it, not only was the food delicious but the gentleman delivering did great, wearing gloves and keeping distance, it was a great no contact delivery. Then you have to consider this is not what these people normally do! It's amazing, well done to everyone at The White Horse, you're doing a great job and you'll be delivering our way again soon that's for sure and we look forward to seeing you when you can...
