Nothing luxury about this experience. First impression on arrival weeds in garden outside leaves ,scruffy . Inside over powering strange sickly smell and tacky decor . So disappointed with the tea experience. A glass of sour orange juice in a champagne flute a dry bread roll and a spoonful of cheese spread on table . Nothing was elegant. No table cloth no place mats no cloth napkins non of the cups tea pots matched . The food is really poor. They brought out a black square rack thing that is MDF painted black with a drawer handle on the top. Looked Chinese and on it was a cold piece of pizza half a quasant with cheese thee worst ham sandwich I've ever had a small cheap tea cake with one piece of ham on it . Some salsa dip and cheap tasting Doritos chips. And a small cup with cold over cooked penne pasta with pesto on it . Absolutely rubbish for the money you pay . I was expecting afternoon English tea sandwiches cut in squares salmon and cucumber that kind of thing so disappointed. Then the deserts came. Again rubbish. Dry hard brownies tiny ones with grey sweet tasteless paste on top devil cake no taste just sickly sweet. cheap scones with see through cheap jam no fruit in the jam . Weird circular brown cakes that tasted like a waggon wheel on the outside with moose in the middle. A shortcake biscuit with yellow icing on it that was soft and tasteless. Everything was rubbish. I was given a tea cup saucer to eat from a tea spoon to eat my cake with . Seriously it's supposed to be a side plate and a dessert fork to eat cake with. Not a clue about the details of an afternoon tea. Annoyed me that nothing matched it was like they had gone to aunty Wainwrights second hand shop and collected miss matched cups and tea pots and serving from them. 28 pounds this lot . Absolutely a joke . Save your money you get a better experience at Morrisons cafe . They brought the bill in a hard back book that they had ripped the pages out of just the cardboard from the outside of a book. Like when you're at school and some kids ripped out the centre of a hard back book . I was like what the hell can't you afford a proper one. All of it was crap to...
Read moreI had such a lovely experience here. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this place had a lot of character and charm. It’s not overly polished, but that’s part of what makes it feel so warm and welcoming.
Inside, it felt relaxed and cosy. The decor is a bit eclectic, but in a way that feels intentional and personal—like somewhere that’s been put together with care rather than following a template.
The afternoon tea was really enjoyable. It wasn’t your typical traditional setup, but that actually made it more interesting. Everything was nicely presented, and there was a good mix of savoury and sweet items with some fun, creative touches.
What stood out to me most was how friendly and attentive the staff are. They clearly care about what they do and want people to enjoy themselves. Even little things, like how the bill was brought over in an old book, added to the quirky charm of the place.
I would definitely...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed to say the least ! . I followed the instructions to book Tea for two on Thursday 22nd August for my daughters birthday 23 rd birthday. I messaged the Twisted Tea Pot via messenger as directed to recieve no response , I appreciate that they may not have had availability however I would have expected a response saying exactly that and offering an alternative date instead I got nothing . I hear you say they might not have sceen the message but it clearly showed that it had been read ! Maybe they only value existing customers in fact they must as we certenly dont feel valued and wont be trying again ! Every business owner knows its twice as hard to attract a new customer then keeping an existing one so next time someones comes a knocking treat them with respect and say no we carnt, you never know they just might...
