Istanbul Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Barnsley

Been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while now. Took advantage of the government scheme and our upcoming anniversary to book a table. Booking confirmation and communications were excellent and speedy. Unfortunately, I broke my leg the week before we were due to visit, so I emailed to check that my wheelchair could be accommodated. Received an email immediately, confirming that this would not be a problem. Arrived at the restaurant and was surprised to see that it was much larger inside, than it looked on the outside, and the smells wafting over from the kitchen were divine. As a party of 7, our requests were varied, but i can honestly say that every dish was absolutely delicious. Coffees were good, if a little weak for our personal taste, but perfect for our son-in-law. The restaurant was extremely busy so, unsurprisingly, we had a bit of a wait for our food but it was well worth waiting for. Our bill came to £88, £150 before 5he government discount, which was exceptionally good value for money. Needless to say, we will be visiting again. My friend and I passed through Barnsley and happened to stumble upon this hidden gem.

Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we entered. Keep it up guys.

I ordered Lamb beyti and he ordered chef’s special - humus and the drink effes.

The food was 10 out of 10 it really took me back to the istanbul streets where beyti and izgara smoke in the air feel you up.

I loved the inside of the restaurant. The playlist was great. Volume not too loud, not too quite.

Staff very responsive and attentive.

The only thing that caught my attention that i think is room for improvement was the bathroom basin which was positioned in a very awkward place right where the door was. It was uncomfortable to get in and out where someone is washing their hands.

All in all, i have been to many Turkish restaurants in the country and worldwide, this defo is in the top best. Thanks Istanbul kitchen team. I appreciate the experience and the delicious...

I have been waiting for a long time to have a turkish restaurant in Barnsley. A very nice, clean and cozy restaurant. Just got there 15 minutes earlier to opening time and asked if they are open, I have been asked if is ok to wait 15 minutes before food can be served but we could have a cold apetizer. Been invited inside ordered cold starters and drinks and then our main course order was taken. A very spot on service, a very warm welcome, always worth getting there and being treated very well. About the food 10 out of 10, fresh, tasty and delicious. Haven't ate such a good turkish food in a while and all worth going there. The portions are quite big but how delicious is is all worth. Definately would go back as I have more dishes to taste!
