Station Cafe Basildon — Restaurant in Basildon

They deliberately ripped me off. Went in for a takeaway sandwich. 4 quid for Ham with a bit of iceberg lettuce (not on the menu). Noticed on my way out that a ham and cheese (on the menu) was £3.50. I went back in thinking there'd been a mistake but the lady told me "No, it's a pound for the lettuce." Twice as much as for cheese.

She said l she'd had to check the with management, but the owner/ manager was sat behind me (where I waited) at the back and she never went near him. And she was obviously the most experienced person in the place.

Ordered and paid about £12 for a full English breakfast and a milkshake for takeout. Tell me why I get to my destination, open it and find an almost empty tray. Basically half a breakfast with only bacon, a dried up sausage and an egg. Where on earth are my mushrooms, black pudding and the rest of my breakfast? The only thing they got right was the scrambled egg and milkshake.

And to make matters worse, I called to complain and the lady on the phone told me, “Ma’am, there’s nothing I can do.” You could at least apologise no? No apology whatsoever. Instead all I got was attitude. Completely...

04/05/23. Walked into the station cafe at about 18.30 and asked for rock eel and chips to take away, took about 15 minutes and I thought good. When she handed me the food I repeated "rock and chips" to which she said, "no, it's cod", then the chef said they haven't got any rock eel, so why didn't they tell me before?
