I don’t know what it is with Nandos Basingstoke Branches , but honestly, the regional managers need to sort them out.
I been going to this branch for some time & stopped going as i always seemed to have problems when I visited & i really wish i had stuck to my words of ‘i won’t be going back’ the last time i went because today was really shocking:
The bread that comes with hummus is ALWAYS cold- I went up to where the kitchen staff put the food & asked a girl that serves the food if i could get bread hot.. she then saw another humus with bread on the hot plate waiting for another customers order & asked me “is this hot enough “ she made me touch it to see if the bread was hot , i said no because it weren’t , after this I am very, very sure, I saw her put the plate with the hummus, back on the hot plate (the one i touched) for it to go to another customer!!
I wish this was all, but there’s more!
When I got back to my table, my food was there, at this point I didn't get to eat my hummous because they were rectifying the problem (when it did arrive, I was eating my main meal, so then it got cold anyway 😩- this wouldn't of happened if the bread was hot in the first place). Another staff member comes to seat another table next to me.. then comes to my table and takes the table hen… I thought staff only take the hen if they ask how the food was or if we need anything else, however this was not the case.
So overall literally a wast of my money & a horrible experience.. I definitely will not be...
Read moreIt’s been some time since I last ate at Nandos so I was really amazed by how much I enjoyed it especially as it has quite a limited menu for vegetarians and vegans. I opted for halloumi sticks with chilli jam to start, then 4 regular sides of coleslaw, garlic bread, corn on the cob and peri chips and to finish a salted caramel brownie. My group of 6 ate here as part of Eat Out to Help Out so there was a fairly long wait to get a table and there was quite a busy vibe inside even though there were measures in place for COVID-19. While the food was very reasonable for the price especially because of the promo, what stands out here is the service and their attention to detail particularly for anyone with allergies. Our server Kabir very patiently and with good humour, explained everything we needed to know in terms of ordering and also took the time to check ingredients for the 2 people in our group who had quite specific needs. No eyebrows were raised or questions asked about why we were ok with some ingredients but not others. The portions were a good size & there’s no problem to split the bill, if your group needs to. Not 5 star dining but we all came away with...
Read moreIt's been a while since I visited a Nando's; and a Saturday afternoon, shortly after lockdown ended was possibley not the best idea, especially as there were 10 of us!
They've set-up screens between the booths and tables to try and provide some spacing, and this does seem to work well, although it does make getting in and out a little bit of a challenge, especially for those with reduced mobility.
The staff were working incredibly hard to try and cater for everyone; I simply cannot fault their enthusiasm and effort.
The WiFi was patchy, and although it should have been easy to order at the table via the app or website, it actually proved impossible. Mobile signal inside is very low which also doesn't help. I was able to order at the counter instead, so that's worth keeping in mind.
Because the restaurant was so busy, there were a few mistakes with the orders, but these were quickly rectified.
I know some of the other members of our party will be back as they live in the area; I might keep my eye open for a Nando's...
