The Cannon — Restaurant in Bassetlaw

Hmmm I'm still not sure about this one. Staff was 'helpful' as in did what I asked them politely to do however they were not really into doing anything. The food was tasty so that saved the from negative feedback however I feel like this pub falls beyond the standards of the others in the Sizzling chain. For example the unlimited filter coffee for breakfast was non existent - there were a few Nescafé packets for me to use, no sugar or got water (you had to have it from the staff at the bar). Breakfast is served till 12, when I entered at 11:40 out of courtesy I asked if they still serve it and the girl had a long thinking about it and said 'we can do' as if she was doing me a favour?!? However older ladies ( I assume regulars) came in at 12:30 and realised what the wanted from the menu was unavailable they went for a breakfast... Nice place was quite busy when I went in with my two children the young lad on the bar was very busy running going trying to keep everybody happy with great service while the team leader just stood there walking past waiting customers myself being one of them you could tell she just didn't 3ant to be there and let the young lad do all the work (I will be wrighting in to there head office about this )Good arrived in good time agian brought by the young lad while again the team leader stood there watching people waiting at the bar food was good value for money although one of the kids meals could have been better presented but I can understand the kitchen was busy so I can let that slide all in all not bad would I...

Good food and friendly staff but the decor is in urgent need of some refreshing.

I can't fault my meal, with my son and I having a three item shared starter followed by main courses from the grill. I like my steak rare and was pleased that unlike many places this was not intepreted as meaning medium to well done.
