Unfortunately this great little place is hidden by dark signage in the eatery-crowded Botanic, but once you've been in and ordered some food you'll never forget where it is! If you want something quick and tasty, Boa Botanic is perfect. The concept is quite similar to Boojum, pick a base and a meat, and then add all the extras you want in there. However, unlike Boojum, Boa serve an amount that will let you leave feeling full, but not like you've over done it. The food on offer also tastes much fresher. If you come in, don't feel like you have to stand worryingly trying to figure out the black boards on how to order. Instead, walk up to one of the incredibly friendly staff and get their advice; they are happy to help you with anything.

On the look for Asian food at a relatively late hour, we went in hoping for some authentic Taiwanese food but unfortunately it just didn’t really deliver for us… the Bao itself was nice and fluffy and the rice was well cooked which is why I’m giving two stars, but the chicken was watery and dry… the pork was just super salty and sweet, hard to finish it. The slaw and cucumber were soggy I was just missing the crunch. The fries were okay, slightly too spicy for me but that’s just a personal taste preference, although the ones at the bottom were full of salt. I’d say as an Asian person, I wouldn’t call this authentic Taiwanese food.

Food was delicious! Asian fusion on a busy uni street in Belfast was nice for a change. I visit often from the states and crave spice and sometimes it can be hard to find. Only place in town I've seen jackfruit so that was really cool/class! Also, the staff was very diverse and knowledgeable about different cultures/ faiths and offered to sub our poutine fries with another sauce since I don't eat pork for religious reason. The young lady at the counter greeted us and wished us a happy holiday season which was pleasing to hear as we enjoyed breaking our fast there.

We used to get Bao Bun all the time. But we’ve found recently that it has become too expensive given what you get. £40+ for some bao’s, fries and pieces of chicken just isn’t value for money. Unfortunately the fries were pretty lacklustre. The Bao’s were good, they always are. Also paid for a dip but didn’t receive it, and it had been highlighted on the receipt to. (We took that up with Just Eat). I understand that things can be forgotten, but when you pay for something you expect to get it. I understand that given the current climate that restaurants are struggling but it just doesn’t seem the price is worth what you actually get in the end. I mean it’s an extra £4.60 for some extra meat, the Bao’s are always full so where is that extra portion going? Is something else being removed to fit in the extra meat? Just isn’t worth it in the end. Boojum have extra meat, it’s a full portion and doesn’t cost as much as this. Just some constructive feedback from what used to be,...

Went in expecting a bao experience or atleast similar to it but found food that probably might work for this part of the world where hot sauce is actually sweet and kimchi flavour has no meaning. I didn't want to leave this review but then I had to for people who might be going in looking for the authentic or close to authentic bao and if not then looking for hot spicy flavour food and I thought this review might save them the experience of tasting sweet sauce instead of spicy flavour. The meat filling for each bao was disappointing and the bao bun itself was puffed up beyond necessary for a bao. Bao bun in fast food style yes but similarity to the goodness of real bao very very +very far. No matter what is the response I still stand by this opinion and it is definitely aimed at the crowd who would be searching for the kick in the hot flavour on the menu but good to see the owner takes reviews and feedback...

Great experience here tonight for my first time in BaoBun! The food was great, but it was the customer service that stuck out for me. Very friendly service. When I was ordering, I was told it would be 10 minutes for the chicken to cook (which was totally fine!). So, after 10 minutes I got my food. I honestly didn’t mind the wait, but the staff felt it appropriate to give me a small bag of chips to say sorry! The apology wasn’t needed but it left myself and my friend Lewis in awe.

This is the first time I’ve left a review for customer service and I felt compelled to do so tonight! The customer service assistant from Liverpool (unsure her name) went that little bit extra for us and it went a long way. It costs the company nothing to give a few complimentary chips to a customer, but it has left a lasting impression for me that I will pass on to my friends. A good investment I believe. Will...
