Food was very tasty, the owner was very kind and friendly, but when it came to ordering and about being informative about the potions, wasn't that good of a communicator , hence we ended up ordering 2 rottie potions, where one would have been enough to share among 2 people ,with another main dish, 1 rottie = 4 slices. Though the food was tasty, felt the food prices were higher by 25% - 30% higher than the average price. All in all compared to the last menu published here in Google reviews the price was up by GBP 2-3. We were only 2 adults and 6 year old. The kids meal was GBP 10+ for (Chips and Nuggets) which is quite a high price in my belief. A starter potion comes to more than GBP 8+ . Main dishes ranges from GBP 19+. Took fairly a long time to serve the food. For total of 2 adults and 1 kid the cost was GBP 79, The highest we have paid to dine in, in Belfast. Chicken Momo - GBP 8.95 ( for 4 small dumplings) Kids Nuggets & Chips - GBP 10.95 ? Aloo Parata (Potion - 4 slices) - GBP 3.95 Garlic Coriander Naan(Potion - 4 slices) - GBP 3.50 Himalayan Special Curry - GBP 19.95 ( Small potion size for an exorbitant price charged) Chicken Tikka Biryani - GBP 20.95 (Potion size small for the price charged) Small sprite - GBP 2.95 Still water - GBP 3.50 Large Coke - GBP 4.20 Total Bill - GBP 78.90

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt this was justified. For reference the order came to a total of £45, luckily enough I got £10 off on Deliveroo (which makes me feel a little bit better, but I’m still not happy about it) I ordered a take out. I ordered 2 chicken starters which I’m honest hadn’t got much flavour.. The potato dish was just peas and potato, again hadn’t got much flavour either.. It was my first time trying onion Bhaji so I don’t have much to compare them to, but they were okay although I wouldn’t order them again. The Nan was okay. I did enjoy the butter makhani chicken, it was tasty. The price that I paid for the food does not represent the quality of the food, at all. Overall, the food was mid at BEST, I am not happy with what I got for what I paid and I definitely would not return or recommend.

What a fantastic experience. Hospitality and food was 5 star! We booked a table via the website 20 minutes before turning up. We were greeted by Prakash who was so welcoming. My husband shared it was my birthday and it was our first time at the restaurant. Within 5 minutes, Prakash had us a window view seat with a Happy Birthday banner and a beautiful big Happy Birthday helium balloon. Very impressive! Prakash shared various food reccomendations and the food was absolutely delicious. Full of flavour and spice. The peshwari naan was proberly the best we've tasted and we love Indian food! We were also treated to a glass of bubbly and birthday cake - candle and all! Honestly, the evening went from a last minute outting to a proper celebration which we both really enjoyed. We will 100% return.

Went back here on the on the 22nd July what a complete turnaround in our expectations I can only put it down to the BOSS (the gentleman with the hat) not being present because his input was most definitely missing. I can't express our disappointment how we were treated as customers. Having great food here last time, it would be unfair of me to change our minds about the quality.

The following is my correspondence to the restaurant sent by email without getting a reply.

Reservation No: 10....1 Date 22nd July 23 Time 19:30 Members 2

It is with the greatest reluctance that I write to you regarding our visit to your restaurant on the above date. After taking a taxi we arrived on the appointed time that we booked. We were instructed to wait in the outer area. After a while we were shown to a table next to a Column, (which we were not happy with) when I informed the waiter that we had booked a table on the 1st July, well in advance. He appeared to be “not concerned” I asked to be placed by the window or some other area in the restaurant he was not enthusiastic about accommodating our request. He, (the waiter), giving us no other alternative we both had no other choice but to leave and find another restaurant in Belfast city which we are not familiar with, as we were visiting the City for the weekend. We found your employee member very discourteous to say the least to us both. What I did find very distressing was that having reserved the table well in advance, this person left us “leave the restaurant” with the altitude of “indifference” to my wife and I.” I was left feeling very annoyed, my wife, she was upset as she was looking forward very much to a nice evening at this eatery.

What I originally posted

Keeping this one to myself. Brilliant food and service. Most friendly welcome. The gentleman with the hat, might be the owner, great craic had all the time in the world for his customers. I will return next time...

Nice location right off Botanic and a well maintained dining room on the first floor. Unfortunately, the whole experience was really bizarre. Got shouted from entering and received very poor service all along. Food was okay when it arrived, but the experience overall was very underwhelming.

Some of the highlights of our visit: had to wait ages and ask all three front of house people to finally place our order tables seated and ordered after us kept getting food while we were still waiting for our starter no crackers on arrival (all other tables were getting them as soon as seated) starter never arrived, ended up telling them to cancel it altogether after our mains arrived mains and rice arrived, but we had to ask about the naan we ordered for the mains as it was missing as well same story of asking every front of house staff member to get the bill and pay they brought us someone else's bill (glasses of wine instead of our full dinner) , so had to send it back

Have to give them credit they did omit the naan from the bill and brought some sort of juice for both of us at the end. We were already running late at this stage and there was very little to be done to salvage that disaster. Would recommend any other place in the area over this one, just not worth the frustration and hassle. Eating out should be an enjoyable experience and this was very far from it.

On the upside, the food was okay and the menu was pretty extensive. Still, we didn't get the dish we were most excited about, so having things on the menu doesn't...

Amazingly fresh food, cooked perfectly with a lovely warm welcome.

I chose this place as it was top rated in trip advisor. The food was deliciously tasty, you could pick out the individual flavours in each dish. I ordered the Dahl and tasting each flavour, the ginger and garlic and cumin, it wasn't heavy with ghee or oil. The chicken choila was also very good, really different combination of flavours and definitely regional to Nepal, with the slight Asian influences. The chicken was fresh and cooked perfectly, along with the garlic chilli curry. You can pick out the individual flavours.

The service was very good and I would definitely return, although I thought the main curry prices are a few £ higher than they should be. If you order a garlic chilli curry, with rice and a naan, you'll be close to £20 which feels a bit expensive. If you normally share a rice or naan with someone else, the portion sizes here are for 1 person; and not the oversized large portions of rice or naan you are probably use to.

That being said and going back to my previous comment, £20 for a really well cooked main course meal is OK but still feels a bit expensive compared to other curry houses.

This rates in the top 2 in my list of best curry houses in Ireland and NI. The dahl is the nicest I've had, the curry is 2nd place to Donegal. Best in Belfast, absolutely agree with that. I guess you pay...
