Plenty of other bars, lounges and pubs to go to, avoid this spot and give them no business, especially if you're a minority.
Came here during a vacation to Belfast and I tried getting drinks from the bar and was told to take a seat at a table and that they would serve me. After half an hour, that never happened so I got up and got my own drink.
This is where is gets bad- I wanted to try another drink since I was visiting and got up from the assigned table I was at. I specifically told a bartender & server that I'd like to order another drink but want to use the restroom first, please save my table.
Once I came back from the restroom, they had just seated 3 people at my table, to which I didn't think much of. The bartender that was making my drink said I'll bring it to your table and I told him that your server just seated some people at my table while I went to the restroom. The bartender said to tell the server to get my table back otherwise I don't get my drink, which seemed a bit weird.
I explained the situation to the server per the bartender's request and asked the server to get my table back. The server told me to ask the patrons that were at my table to move (felt weird but I just wanted to try one more cocktail). I went to the patrons, briefly explained what happened and asked if I can get my seat back, to which the patrons loudly replied to me with some profanity and "to go back to where I came from you Sand (N-word)". The patrons, server & bartender had a laugh after that was said and then I looked at them at asked " ya'll don't find that insulting, that's pretty messed up and prejudice" to which the server replied, "they're regulars so it's ok".
At that point, I figured I wasn't going to get my last drink and figured it was best to leave, So I asked for my bill and to close out, and they charged me for 2 drinks, the one I had and the one I was hoping to order, which ended up going to the regulars.
I told the server that I only had one drink and this second drink needs to be removed as it got sent to someone else.
The server told me that the people that had my drink were "regulars" and I replied, that's fine but I don't know them at all, why couldn't you just directly give me my drink so that this whole confusion could have been avoided.
This was followed up with a comment from the server, "cheap @$$" and the updated bill.
I paid for my bill and being from USA, I even left a small tip for the first drink and just as I was about to leave, the patrons yelled sand n-word to me again and the bartender + server had another laugh..... I just walked out since I was not looking to pick a fight on foreign soil.
I know this is not representative of Belfast since I had a great time there but this bar deserves no business from anyone, especially minorities as they're supportive of racists. I even tried to get in contact with management via voicemail and even stated what I was wearing so that they could review what happened on their cameras but to no response. I even sent emails and tried additional methods of communication and again, nothing but mere silence or generic emails followed by ghosting.
Either way, to all tourists, especially those that are minorities that are brown/dark skinned, please do not support this bar, they're racist and they won't be shy about attacking you if you're not...
Read moreIf Iâm being honest I think this is one of the worst cocktail bars/restaurants Iâve been to. Immediately upon arrival the bouncers told us it was 25+⌠my friend was celebrating her birthday, so they did let us in. Find it funny when a bar that isnât extremely busy does 25 and over⌠when asked what age we were the bouncer said I need you to prove you are 23 you donât look it. Sometimes when people say things like this it is flattering. The tone in which he said it sounded patronising. This was the first red flag.
The guy who greeted us and took us to our table was lovely. The table however was not. We sat to eat and the table was so low I actually had a sore back by the end of it I think a place like this would have a proper eating area. The chairs weighed about 700 Tons and I could barely move it in closer to the table.
The cocktail menu was nice, but they offered classics instead because we couldnât make sense of what these were. We ended up just ordering pornstar martinis. These were nice but very sour. The food arrived. Ordered tacos and chunky chips, we also got the bread and brown whipped butter to share and chorizo fritters. The side orders were nice. The bread and whipped brown butter was a bit over the top, donât understand why there needed to be whipped brown butter⌠it was just butterđ. The chorizo fritters were lovely but sickening you couldnât eat 3 to yourself⌠definitely for sharing.
The tacos!!!! What on earth were they. The chicken inside reminded me of ribs it was hard and felt like it had been sitting out for a while. The chips were nice but they are just chips and If the best thing about a place is the chips there is a serious issue.
I just could not get behind the atmosphere either. The crowd was very judgemental. The music was okay. At one stage they played gangsters paradise which I love. I just was not feeling it right away. The toilets were lovely they had deodorant and ladies toiletries for customers. Nice touch.
The bouncers again upon exit were funny with us. They had closed the door we entered from and us never being there had no idea that you were meant to go out another door? So we just left the same one but they had put a sign blocking the door when you go to walk down the stairs. The bouncer shouted âladies that is not the right way to go out you nearly had to climb over that sign.â In a jokey wayâŚ
All in all just not convinced by this place. Spent a fortune on rubbish food and a rubbish atmosphere, only to leave feeling robbed and like my back had broken into pieces....

We recently visited this newly refurbished restaurant, drawn in by its stunning interior and stylish ambiance. Sadly, the experience did not live up to the aesthetics.
Despite hearing mixed reports about the service, we were hopeful. Unfortunately, our concerns were quickly validated. The menu was very limited with no real main courses â just a selection of small or larger plates. One of our group ordered the âspecial of the dayâ â a burger that was enthusiastically upsold by our waiter â only to be told ten minutes later that it had sold out.
The most immediate issue was the temperature. We were seated in a beautifully decorated red room at the back, but a strong draft left us all wearing our coats throughout the meal. When we asked if the cold air could be turned off, our waiter, an American gentleman, dismissively replied that the venue would become a âsweat box.â Our request to move tables was ignored, and even after a second complaint, the air conditioning remained unchanged. Guests at the next table were also visibly uncomfortable and those sitting against the bench wall were also still wearing their coats!
Two of our party ordered the plaice, which arrived looking completely different on the two plates â one with a thick black unappetising skin, the other without. When questioned, the waiter insisted they were the same dish and that the kitchen âjust sometimes cooks them that way.â We were unimpressed.
To top it off, our bottle of wine never arrived until after we had finished eating. We had to prompt the bar staff, and when our waiter finally appeared, we declined it. The waiterâs attitude throughout was condescending and insincere, which soured the experience even further. When we raised our concerns, he deflected blame onto the kitchen, though our issues were clearly with his service. As a gesture, he claimed we wouldnât be charged for the wine and three sides â ironic, considering we never received the wine in the first place. We paid and left, thoroughly disappointed, hungry and in need of a glass of wine!
This venue may look the part, but the service was dismal and the food underwhelming. We wonât be returning â not for a meal, not even for a drink â and weâll be sharing our experience with others. A beautiful setting cannot compensate for poor...
