I love Boots! So I hate to have to leave a negative review. However, I am now incredibly upset by the treatment I have received from one of the supervisors in store this evening. For the second time, I have bought items which are showing as reduced on the labels in store, only to find that they are not actually reduced until tomorrow. After I realised that I had paid full price for both items - which were both advertised as on offer, I went back and asked the guy putting the labels on the shelves, why I had been charged full price? A fair-haired woman, mid twenties, with her hair slicked back, came and asked her staff member if everything was okay, completely ignoring me. She then said that it said on the labels that the offers didn’t start until tomorrow and, after some time looking, pointed to some minute numbers saying 0207 beside the bar code. Since I used to work in another high street store, I know that they are not allowed to advertise goods at a price that they are not actually selling them at! When I mentioned this to her, she said “You can’t expect us to stay up to 1am putting labels on things!” and then she said “Right I’ll refund it” and stomped off to the till, not saying one more thing to me. When I left the store, I realised that she had only refunded one of the items and not the other - and she had kept the receipt! I was so upset by the way I had been treated in front of other customers, that I didn’t even notice that she hadn’t returned it or refunded the whole amount. Not only that but she gave me a disparaging look as I left the till. I am just flabbergasted that this woman is one of your supervisors/managers! Is this seriously the standard of service you now get in Boots? Sorely disappointed!
To reply to your response: I would have thought that Boots would want to investigate any complaints against staff or in-store policies themselves, especially when it involves what are, essentially, illegal practices!! It seems to me that Boots has become so large that it has lost its core values - I.e. good customer service. Good customer service is essential for any business to thrive, and costs very little to for a...
Read moreI was given a prescription to be doled out once weekly. My doctor told me I was being taken off their register because I moved, and I was given one month's prescription sent to boots because that was the closest to my house. I am autistic and need the SSRI sertraline to help manage my sensory issues and anxiety. When leaving my last chemist I get an extra week prescription so I came to collect my script late at boots. I was told the script was out of date (this is obviously a store policy rather than a legal requirement because my old chemist allowed me flexibility of collection as people who are on SSRIs often need) They refused to give me the last two weeks even though the chemist understood this was a dangerous thing to do. She refused to call my old doctor to help me resolve the issue and then her workmate who had been holding the que up for 15 minutes talking to her friend and not working, started to have a go at me telling me "everyone has mental health issues" I asked her if she had depression anxiety and autism( as I do) and she flat out lied to my face telling me she did and got angry when I called her out on it. I finally got it resolved by speaking to o my doctor who agreed to send a new script to a different chemist. If you have health concerns do not go here the chemist doesn't understand chemistry and the staff are rude, ignorant, abusive and uneducated in basic medical issues which, honestly, if you're working in a chemists should be the absolute basic you should have. I have a recording of the conversation and will be sending it along with a complaint, disgusting behaviour toward people...
Read moreThe pharmacy department in Boots Donegal Place is extremely inefficient. Due to their incompetence I ceased using their prescription collection service as on two occasions they failed to collect my prescription from my GP and I was left without medication. I am unwell as I write this and again I have been left in the lurch by Boots pharmacy. My husband left my prescription containing 2 items in with them this morning and was given one item. He was asked to call back for the other at 4.30 pm. He left our phone number with them in case they needed to contact us. They did not do so and when he duly called at 4.30 they did not have the item . They gave him contradictory explanations for the failure to have the prescription ready - 1.the item was no longer manufactured 2. they hadn't the item in stock but would check for it at their other stores. My husband asked them to return the prescription so that he could go back to the GP's surgery with it and get me an alternative. However they refused to do this as one item had already been dispensed. I am now at home experiencing extreme discomfort, my GP's surgery is closed until Monday and Boots has not contacted me despite telling my husband that they had phoned but got no reply. I was at home all day and in any case my phone, if unanswered, automatically goes onto messaging - no message from Boots has been received. I do not intend using Boot Donegal place pharmacy ever again but I don't imagine this will bother them much as they clearly...
