Meat & Mo Smokehouse — Restaurant in Belfast

I’ve been meaning to try this place ever since I saw it plastered all over social media, and wow, it did not disappoint! As someone who takes smoked meat VERY seriously, I can honestly say this spot knows what it’s doing! I went all in and got the 'Meat Platter' 200g of brisket, short ribs, chicken, fries, and sides. Let’s start with the brisket... absolute perfection. Tender, juicy, smoky and to die for! Seriously I’d move house just to live closer to this place! The ribs? Fell off the bone like they were too good to stay there. Everything on the plate had me wondering why I’d waited so long to try this place. Now, I got this as a takeaway (because sometimes you just want to feast in the comfort of your own home) and the food travelled like a pro still fresh, still full of flavour, and only a few soggy chips. And considering I had a bit of a drive home, that’s pretty impressive. The staff were sound too... A big shout-out to Mo for making sure everything was spot-on with no hassle. From one head chef to another!!! Magnificent!! delicious!! Flavoursome!! Just had the brisket and chips with barbecue sauce and my wife had the brisket dirty chip. OMG!! such a small little place with a massive impact upon our taste buds. Would have been proud to have cooked it myself.. Highly recommend you try this wee place. Thank you for restoring my belief you can get great food in belfast. Yet again Mr mo doesn't fail to impress me with his amazing food. I believe his food is so delicious because he cares about and takes pride in what he does. I know many chefs who do the job just for the money which annoys me.You have to love what you do to get the best results and you can taste ust how much he loves cooking with the flavoursome food he serves everytime. My wee wife is the world's most fussiest eater and tonight has just stated her dirty chip was the best she has ever had which for me should say all you need to know about how great your food is. I tried them today and for the first time in my 11 years living here, trying every barbecue place in the North, I've finally found one that is actual proper barbecue, it might not be Kansas City style, but it was amazing!

They only open from 3pm-9pm and quickly sell out because their food is so good and unlike others are serving you fresh smoked meats from that day. I learned that the hard way. Showing up at 4pm and they'd already sold out most items on they're menu. So lesson learned, next time I'll be ordering a meat platter at about 12pm to be sure I get to try everything.

We managed to get some brisket, a brisket sandwich, mac n cheese, and lots of cornbread (There was even more then shown in the pictures lol) and everything was so good, loads of food and and nothing left. Even the pickles served with it reminder me of the proper good pickles I'd of got from a barbecue place back home in Kansas City.

Extremely friendly workers as well.

I can't wait to go back and I recommend to everyone...
