I have absolutely no idea how this place has 4.7 stars on Google. Went here for our last night on our wedding trip because we saw these great reviews, and it was a MAJOR disappointment. There are just too many things to mention in a paragraph so I’ll list them: - My sister and I ordered the steaks (sirloin and ribeye). I don’t remember the price of the sirloin, but they’re charging £35 for a ribeye that I can get better at TGI Friday’s. They overcooked mine at first (and my sister’s but she didn’t complain). They sent another cooked a bit better, but there was no saving a piece of meat of such poor quality. - the potatoes that came with the steaks were in a pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl. I see there are complaints about this here. - My mother got the seafood pasta. It had a terrible fishy taste. - my husband ordered the duck breast. Received it first cooked to absolute ruin and sent it back. Received another still over cooked. Manager came over and tried to tell us they always cook it that way and any less would be raw, which if you know how to cook duck that just was not the case. - manager came over to give a complimentary glass of wine to my husband for the trouble, as he came over, my husband found a hair on the new plate of still over cooked duck. - the manager seemed to be adamant about how we were in the wrong, saying things like “any less cooked and it would be raw”, “this is how we have always done it”, “we never receive complaints”, and “Americans just like their meat more raw”. Any time a manager speaks like this to their customers, it’s a sign of poor quality and desperation. - we also overheard him talking about us and our complaints to the table next to us. This made us very uncomfortable. - he brought a dessert to us that they also made complimentary, but was again, mediocre. If you are looking for a delicious, properly cooked meal in Belfast, avoid this place. We are still so sad this was our last taste of Belfast. To the manager- listen to your customers.

I found this restaurant on Google maps because it was close to the Opera House where I was going after the meal and it catered for gluten free people which my friend is On entering the restaurant I was greeted by one of the staff who showed me and my friend to the table. We chose from the Pre Theatre menu at £29.50 for 3 courses plus £5.75 for a glass of house red wine. I ordered leek and potato soup with bread, for the main course I ordered a 6oz Irish beef burger with bacon and cheese, chunky chips and a rocket salad, then apple crumble and ice cream.... My friend had vegetable fitters with pesto, then chicken breast with peppercorn sauce, champ and vegetables, then lemon posset and ice cream. Mmm great food, great service and great atmosphere. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a surprise find and we nearly never stopped. As it was we had a lovely warm welcome from the staff and was seated immediately. We didn't opted for a started but instead went straight for mains. Both of us choosing the fish dishes. I head sea bass and the hubby had salmon. We also had a side dish of salad and the parmesan chips were to die for. Everything was beautifully represented. For dessert I had creme brulee which was de-l-cious and the hubby had the chessboard which he said was the same. All in all we had a lovely meal with a bottle of prosecco. I would defo recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. 😁

I am not complaining at all about this place. But, in my opinion, this place over promises and under delivers.

The food was mediocre at best and the decor and surrounds are café esq. The staff are lovely but all VERY young. The manager/owner is attentive and a really nice guy. I bare no malice. This is merely my review. One has to secure the reservation with CC and, if I hadn't done so, on arrival would have bailed at that point. But give it a go we did. And it's a popular place. Maybe for pre theatre!?

I had a rib eye (medium rare) which comes with peppercorn sauce, both of which were completely tastless. My partner had the pork, which she says was lovely. I had a tempranillo red (glass) which was cold, which wasn't ideal but my 2nd glass was definitely not the same as my 1st!?

I had a creme brulĂše as desert which was pretty nice and my partner had the apple crumble, which unfortunately she says was tasteless.

We picked this place from reviews and this is mine. There is a LOT of choice in Belfast and for me, I am disappointed I picked this over other that are available locally.

Again, the staff were lovely but I would not go out of my way to come here again. For a bill of ÂŁ96 I expect MUCH more (2 person cover) and I would expect this place to step up to the plate should it wish to keep the...
