I had a very disappointing experience.

We had a table booked for 6:30 PM, but our food wasn’t served until 8:00 PM. I understand the restaurant can be busy, but such long delays and overbooking are simply unprofessional.

I ordered the Andhra Bhavan Special Thali, which is served in a massive plate. The problem is that these plates don’t even fit properly on the tables they provide — our table for four could only hold one, at best two, plates. This wasn’t communicated to us beforehand, and the staff still took the order without any heads-up.

Once the food arrived, we realized the plate simply didn’t fit on our table. We requested to move to a bigger table but were told all were booked. We asked if the food could be served in smaller plates, but they refused saying it their signature Andhra Bhavan Thali which cannot be served in any other way. Finally, we suggested joining an empty table next to us, and the staff agreed.

However, just 10 minutes later, while we were eating, a supervisor/manager came and very rudely asked us to vacate the extra table. This was disruptive and unfair — we didn’t intentionally occupy two tables; it was their poor planning and impractical serving style that created the problem. Worse, they even suggested we move to another spot mid-meal, which I think is extremely unprofessional and shows a lack of staff training.

On top of all this, the food was cold when it finally arrived, making the long wait even more frustrating. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I’ve had. From cold food and impractical serving to poor service and overbooking, the restaurant failed on multiple fronts. I would not recommend this place and definitely will not be...

An Unforgettable Feast at Andhra Bhavan, Enhanced by Warmth and Flavor It is a lovely dining experience at Andhra Bhavan in Belfast offering a proper and truly authentic south indian cuisine experience.

From the moment of arrival, guests are greeted with genuine warmth, setting the tone for an exceptional evening. Special mention goes to BHARGHAVI for her incredible service. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and served with genuine warmth. Bharghavi's guidance through the menu ensured that choices were perfect, making the entire experience welcoming.

The food was spectacular. Few mentions goes as, The Kodi Vepudu and Mutton Pepper Fry were outstanding. The Kodi Vepudu, a flavorful dry chicken starter, was perfectly spiced and tender, with a balance of heat and aromatic masalas. The Mutton Pepper Fry was equally impressive, with tender mutton coated in a bold, peppery masala. The main courses included Chicken Dum Biryani and Keema Biryani. The Chicken Dum Biryani offered fragrant, long-grain basmati rice with succulent, perfectly cooked chicken. The spices were balanced, delivering a punchy flavor. The Keema Biryani featured finely minced lamb, rich with spices, integrated with the rice, creating a savory and satisfying dish. Each dish was authentic and cooked to perfection. The quality of the ingredients and the expert preparation are evident. Andhra Bhavan has become a standout culinary destination in Belfast. Paired with Bharghavi's exceptional service, the meal was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant is highly highly highly...

Andhra Bhavan is a centrally located restaurant specialising in South Indian cuisine, mainly from the Andhra Pradesh region. I was so excited to see an authentic Indian restaurant in Belfast so had to check it out! To start we had Masala Dosa with a portion of Pani Puri. This was my first time trying dosa but was very impressed with the flavour and condiments that came with it, especially the peanut sauce! The pani puri was a fun dish to eat, pouring the broth and eating it in one go was a great laugh and even better taste. For my main I had the Gutti Vankaya Curry (Aubergine) which was creamy and delicious with the perfect level of spice! We also had the Tadka Dal which as always is very tasty. Lastly we had some desserts along with the special of the day Jalebi, which was a lovely way to end the meal. Overall I was impressed with how accommodating they were for vegan options. I was able to have the ghee removed from the dosa in order to make the dish vegan. My only disappointment was being unable to order Biryani, so I am hoping there is a way to make this option vegan in the future! My family and I were served by Bhargavi Angadi who did a fantastic job. She was brilliant at ensuring dishes were vegan and passionately telling us all about the dishes we ordered. This really completed the experience for us. I would say to ignore the negative reviews, if you enjoy Indian food come and try it for yourself. Andhra Bhavan will be our number 1 go to for Indian cuisine Belfast, see you all...

A busy and vibrant new addition to Belfast’s food scene. Fantastic menu with a range of South Indian vegetarian and meat (halal) dishes, and a fantastic range of Indian drinks including mango lassi, badam milk and jeera masala soda. The restaurant is also fully licensed with alcoholic drinks available. Our party opted for the thali menu, and was served a selection of delicious curries, sauces, rice dishes and breads. We finished with some delectable ‘sweets’ - gulab jamun. The servers were all very attentive and helpful, especially our wonderful server Bhargavi (Angadi), who explained every dish we tasted, made recommendations and suggested traditional drink pairings to accompany our meals. We were not rushed, and were allowed to take out time, discovering these lovely dishes. This is a real asset to Belfast. A great place for South Indians living in Belfast to have a ‘taste of home’ while also allowing us Non-Indians a new culinary experience. Can’t wait to return to try some of the fantastic looking dosa, pan puri and chaat!
