Looks like a middle-class café, but is run by someone who isn't and is frequented by people who aren't...
The positives: Pleasant aesthetics, mainly. Pleasant enough drinks staff, although chavvy. A nice selection of menu items, not too overwhelming to choose what you'd like to order. Some of the food available is great. Some nice seating.
The negatives: the sausages for breakfast are extremely poor quality, despite the prices charged. Servers are slow to serve you. The place is freezing in the morning. I've sat there with my coat on both times I went in the morning. The toilets are disgusting. They look like they never get cleaned and they soap dispensers have old soap dripping down them. It looks like they've never been cleaned. Some areas need repainting. The staff in the kitchen are a disgrace. They blast music and shout at each other and talk very loudly, all within earshot of customers. This isn't something that you want to hear when you've popped out for a quiet coffee, to read the newspaper or catch up with friends. Customers pay to eat and drink here, so please respect them and provide an atmosphere without the shrieking from the kitchen. No wonder this place isn't very busy.
To the manager- this place has potential. Please just look at it from a middle-class person's point of view and give them what they want. This isn't Wetherspoon, so please provide a...
Read morePoor staff...poor food... Sadly, this is the first ever negative review I have felt strongly enough to write about. I have never taken pictures of food before but thought that I would to support this review. This was the first time that my family had gone out for a meal since lock down. We looked for somewhere that had outdoor seating available (for obvious reasons)-The seating area was very clean and fresh. Throughout the duration of our time here, the staff seemed to be very confused and didn't appear to know what they were doing or what was going on with regards to orders etc. When our food did arrive, it was extremely disappointing/shambolic. Nachos were soggy with a thick like consistency. The topping of sour creme and chicken was better but hugely salty. The calamari was straight from frozen packet-limp and lifeless on the plate. The best part of the meal was grilled halloumi. My husband had a burrito but said that he wish we hadn't gone here to eat- ate it begrudgingly. Kids had a fish finger and chip meal- bog standard, nothing special. The restaurant is participating in the 'eat out to help out' scheme, but I really wouldn't waste your time, effort or money. I understand that the hospitality sector has taken a huge hit during this pandemic, but what we experienced today will not help it move forward in the future. We won't be returning OR...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I visited Los Banditos on Saturday at around 4pm. Our experience was absolutely awful starting from being asked to order our food within less than two minutes of being seated, then after ordering a drink specifically with no ice and getting a glass filled half with with ice. We both ordered burritos which were appalling I couldn't eat a quarter of they lacked flavour, were cool in temperature and dry. Not to mention the smell coming from the food. The sauces that came with our burritos were mixed up and the side of fries we ordered were forgotten and came much later on throughout our meal, although they were the only thing we did actually eat. After asking for a glass of water we watched the bar tender on shift pour it and look at our table then put it under the bar for a good ten minutes whilst she chatted away to another staff member. Beware if you are any size over small/pushing medium you will not be able to fit in the chairs as me and my boyfriend struggled and were both quite slim. The overall experience was very weird and awkward as the staff could clearly see how awful the food was. Safe to say we will not be recommending and definitely...
