Friday night was curry night with seven friends, and we hit up Rajput in Boldmere – a place I’d thankfully booked in advance! They even sent a super friendly reminder to confirm our numbers, which was a nice touch. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing, a perfect backdrop for a relaxed yet lively gathering. Our server was a true gem – incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the food. They guided us through the menu, recommending a fantastic selection of dishes that our entire group devoured with gusto. The sharing platters for starters were a stroke of genius; a delicious way to kick things off and sample a bit of everything. Now, here's a brilliant perk: Rajput operates a bring-your-own-booze policy! No inflated restaurant drink prices here, and even better, they provide all the glasses you need. It's thoughtful touches like these that really elevate the experience. Honestly, the entire team at Rajput is amazing. They were attentive without being intrusive, accommodating to every request, and just generally made us feel incredibly welcome. I can't recommend Rajput highly enough. It's easily one of the best curry houses in Sutton Coldfield, and trust me, I've already booked our next gathering there! If you're looking for fantastic food, a great vibe, and top-notch service, this is your spot.

Popadmons £0.70, the sauces they bring out with them £2.00, next time I would ask for only the mint sauce as that's the only one we ate. I would also say the popadoms were stale. Food though was delicious, would 100% eat here again, I had a Chicken Chalsi which is a very sweet curry and my aunt had the Dalcha which was lentil based and lots of coriander which she adored. You buy rice separately, I would suggest if you are a pair to have one rice and one bread to share. The staff were very nice and let us move when we complained of a flickering light above our heads that was bothering us quite a bit. The dress of the staff confused me a bit one man was dressed beautifully in a waistcoat and white shirts others in black shirts, some mismatched ties, and still someone in a striped white and blue shirt. It was a very busy Saturday night and they were struggling a bit, we had to ask for water twice, then again twice for glasses to drink from - my aunt with me said they are not usually so disorganised so perhaps this is a one off. Clearly the place is extremely popular it is well decorated and welcoming if white echoey when there are lots of people! Popular with couples, work groups as well as families too.

Shame It's a shame. What used to be one of the best places to eat in Boldmere has very rapidly become one of the worst. From poor quality service to worse quality food. It's such a shame to see a restaurant that used to value it's customers and their business to serving raw food that I'm sure they are not proud of serving. Is it greed that's caused the standards to decline so rapidly? Who knows. We have given this business several attempts to show us the greatness that they are renowned for. Eight weeks ago, we noticed a decline in the food and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Everything has ups and downs but it's been down, and down, and down. No attempt from the business to rectify clearly bad quality (raw) food. As a customer of this restaurant who visited weekly for 12 months or more, my advice is to take your business elsewhere to a restaurant that values you as a customer and serves quality food.

Had a table booked at 8 , four adults two children , started off fine ordered poppadoms, enjoying the company. Waiter came over to take our orders, ordered starters , four of us wanted the same starter, my partner asked for a special curry and wanted to add some extras in, he was rudely stopped and told they would not do that , we ordered naans and specifically asked for no chillies because of the children. Our starters eventually came out , four of them were wrong , their answer, well you will have to wait 15..20 minutes for new starters (no apology there) so we just ate the starters we were given because we’d already been there a while. 10pm our mains finally came out , my son starting eating some of the naan and his face just went bright red and his eyes blood shot, there were chillies in the naan he was in pain with how hot they were. We called the waiter over and told him we asked for no chillies , the waiter then turned around and said we will only replace one naan because you’ve started eating the other one !!!!! My partner was not happy at all with their attitude, the waiter was still arguing that it would not be replaced , my partner was fuming and told them to forget the naan and to remove it from the bill and also to remove the starters that were wrong , another waiter come over apologising and said he would do this for the inconvenience, after our meal we asked for the bill and no deductions were made , we asked to speak to the manager , my partner was told to go over to the manager which we thought was very rude , the manager was very unhelpful and very rude , telling us we shouldn’t of ate the starters, we was not prepared to wait another 20 minutes after already waiting an hour whilst the other diners we were with was eating their starters !! My partner was so angry at this point and told them he would never be dining here again , the managers response , do not get telling people about this !! My partner said I suggest you have a think about how we have been treated and spoken to tonight and rethink the final bill. He sat back at the table and we waited , we was given the bill again and they removed the items , one of the waiters couldn’t apologise enough , the manager just stood at the till staring at us not once did he come over to deal with the situation , to rub salt In the wounds we had the original order given to us and they had wrote the right starters in the first place so no excuse to get them wrong at all !! Would never go there again ,...

Table of 7. Saturday night. Second time here and extremely disappointed. Recommended this place to my family based on my first visit! How wrong was I! Rude waiter took our order, very blunt and abrupt when asking for extras to be added to the curry we were told ‘we can’t put everything in it’. When the starters did arrive around 45 minutes later 3 of them were wrong but with no apology we were told ‘well we can swop them but you’ll have to wait 20 minutes’ so we decided to just eat what we had been given. Disappointing so far. 2 hours after ordering our mains finally arrived. They were practically thrown down by the rude waiter. We had ordered special Naan’s without the chillis as we were dining with children. My nephew took one bite and immediately I could see he was in trouble. He was choking on a hot chilli. When we asked them to change the naans and pointed out the state of my 12 year old nephews now streaming eyes, we were told well we’re only replacing one because you’ve taken a bite out the others. We said we had to to know they were wrong!!! After much arguing at the table amongst the other diners, we said take the naan bread off the bill, we don’t want it if it’s such a problem to replace. We also said and because of how we’ve been treated you can take the starters off too, as that was also your error. The bill arrived and nothing had been removed as agreed. We were told to go to the counter to complain to the manager so we did. There the manager was so rude and said you better not talk about this or we won’t sort it out. Shocking way to treat customers! After much raised voices they finally removed the mistakes from the bill. For the remainder of the time we were there the manager stood and glared at our table not breaking his stare. Intimidating and rude! Out of all the staff only 1 of the waiters came and apologised for everything that had gone so wrong all night. Never ever again! Over priced, basic food at best! And if they make a mistake, then be prepared to have to take it...

We originally booked the round table at their sister restaurant Karma. I booked this a month in advance. A few days before we were due to visit I received a call from someone at Karma to tell me the round table was not available. Slighty confused and disappointed as this was booked a month in advance for a girls night out. We were offered their other restaurant Rajput. The prices are slightly higher here compared to Karma but the manager told me they would offer me Karma prices. We visited Rajput on a Saturday night and the table was booked for 7 pm. We did not order starters just main meals which took over 1 hour 30 to come out. We did ask a number of times how long the wait would be and was constantly told in a minute. When our food came out one of us was left without our meal. The staff asked what they had ordered and then pointed out they had given it to another girl in our party and mixed it up. They expected my friend who had currently started eating the meal to stop and hand it over to the person in our party who had ordered it. We asked three times if they would bring another one out and everytime we were told but she has your meal. In the end I had to point out that the meal had already been half eaten and its not very hygienic to hand over a meal to someone which has already been tucked into. At this point they agreed to make another one. There were queues at the door of people waiting for tables, the restaurant was rammed. Safe to say we won't...
