I went to costa coffee at star city with my family and friends. We were a group of approximately 10 people including children. A few of us went ahead ordered and sat down. Unfortunately, when the rest of us came in there was no space to sit together. So we chose to sit at a separate table (this is also where the children were sat). The lady that was working there with short hair and glasses was very rude. Whilst ordering she was being rude. Then again when the second table joined (and did not order as others in the group who wanted coffee had already ordered) we were told that we cannot sit at the table if we do not order. I even told her that we are with people who had already ordered. She said it doesn't matter. We either need to order or leave. At this point, I would like to mention again that there were children sitting at the table, there were plenty of other tables free in the establishment and it was a cold evening. Even out of humanity someone wouldn't ask children and women to leave when causing no trouble in the cold. We had an argument and we asked for the lady's name as we wanted to put in a complaint, she very rudely pulled her t-shirt forward to show her badge. Furthermore, she even tried to defend her position by saying that she was not to know that we were together eventhough this was made clear to hear when she asked us to order or leave. We used to go to Costa Coffee occasionally, but this experience has really disappointed us. Especially this lady, so-called manager, really needs to be taught customer service again. We are never going to go Costa again. They need to learn customer service from the smaller local...
Read moremy family and i went there for my mothers birthday around two hours before they closed. we had two coupons for free small hot chocolates for the kids, and we had brought our own cakes that we had bought the same day; they were still in their original packaging. usually, when i go to Costa, they let us eat things brought from home, but on that day they decided that it was against their policy to bring food from outside of Costa. they posed this quite disrespectfully. we decided to let it slide and put the cakes away. they took their time making our drinks and then when they came, the hot chocolates were ice cold, as were the cappuccino and americano we had ordered. they were freezing, and they came in a takeaway cup, not even a mug. they hadn’t given us a tray, and we had to go back and forth carrying our drinks to the table. my mother then decided she was going to buy a cake instead of the ones we bought that we weren’t allowed to eat. she got up to choose. there weren’t any cakes at all, even though it was no where near their closing time! we took our drinks and left, and we will not...
Read moreDisappointing Experience – Staff Make Up Their Own Rules
Visited Costa recently and was really let down by the service. The cashier acted like she owned the entire shop—very dismissive and unprofessional. Another staff member chimed in saying only one voucher per household was allowed, which isn’t true—multiple people in a household can have their own Vodafone accounts.
It felt like the staff were making up their own rules on the spot, with no consistency or courtesy. The whole interaction was uncomfortable and frustrating. Definitely won’t be returning to this location. Costa should really look into how their staff are...
