I traveled from the U.S to meet up with a group of friends who chose this restaurant for our Christmas gathering. Due to a delayed flight, I arrived later than the others and attempted to place my food order. Neither of the servers seemed intrigued to take the order. One asked the other to come over to me, he said no and told the other he should do it. Meanwhile I sat there waiting for somebody, anybody to take my order. I have never in my history of dining out, ever experienced this. I ordered the lamb chops, which for the price should have been accompanied with a side but it did not. I placed a side order of rice to eat with it. They brought the lambchops out by itself and gave it to one of the girls on the far end of our table. They later realized it was for me and passed it down several minutes later. Then they brought the rice out with some other dish for another young lady. She complained that hers was fries. They then realized that was my rice and passed that over midway into my cold lambchops. The entire dish was cold. How do you not know who ordered what? Why are dishes not coming from the kitchen directly to the patron? Who wants their meal passing various hands along the table? The food was a solid 1/10. The service was a solid 1/10, and the entertainment was a solid 8/10. The music and fire acts were awesome. However, it is constant with no breaks for patrons to chat with each other as you cannot even hear the person next to you. This restaurant is geared toward entertainment more than the quality of meals and service provided. Also, please be aware that this restaurant does not serve alcohol of any sort. Also, people who ordered dessert saw their desserts make its way to other people's mouths for tricks and tastes before being served to them. YUCK! We were scurried out of the restaurant rudely in an effort to accommodate the next party. I guess they already had our money, so being polite was no longer needed. How about advising tables ahead of time that they have 15 minutes left. Wouldn't that be more courteous? There are far too many restaurants with quality food, exceptional service, and top notch entertainment for me, or you to ever suffice with such a low grade experience. If not for the wonderful ladies my trip to BRUM would have been a...
Read moreFood was fine, though overpriced & smaller in portion size than I expected. Steak lacked spices & salt (I ordered medium well, but instead got medium rare. There was too much pink oozing out of my steak which put me off), but everything else seemed great. I had gone with my family for dinner, which started off lovely. My experience became unpleasant due to the overbearing behavior of one waiter, Bhatti. From the moment we sat down, you could tell he was more interested in his performance than in making sure we had a pleasant dining experience.
Bhatti hovered over us incessantly, offering unsolicited advice & making unnecessary comments. He told my toddler to break my husbsnds glasses while she was playing with them calmly! At the end, he came over to our table with a qr code (don't know why he has one of these, no other staff there has ever done this & he wasn't the only one serving us. We had around 4 different waiters tending to us). He told us to scan it, glared over our heads, at our phones & pressured us into leaving a 5 star review while mentioning his name. He even had it spelt out for us, tried helping himself to my phone to leave a review & he told us what to write about him. My family & I were very uncomfortable. His pushiness was not only unprofessional but also left a bitter aftertaste.
PS: have you noticed on google reviews that the reviews generally mention 'uncle bhatti'? He forces them all to do the same. He does not move from his spot until he has seen it/read it & you have submitted it. He even tried pressing the submit button on my phone! I don't feel comfortable visiting this place again. I can't even recommend it, as I don't want anyone else to have the same experience that I did.
I mentioned this to the waiter at reception, who kindly apologised for Bhatti's unprofessionalism. Turns out they have received complaints like this before & he was reprimanded but he still persists. I hope this issue is resolved as I cannot bring myself to come back here again.
I also was taken by surprise at the the extra 10% service charge on top of a near £100 bill. You'd think the extortionate costs cover these service charges but I guess it is worth asking for this surcharge to be removed when paying if you don't want...
Read moreFood was decent, price was fine, but the presentation was a bit basic when you can get a much higher quality experience in mailbox and city centre for a similar cost.
But the main issue was the Service, it was amateur and embarrassing, I asked in advance for a comfortable table for my wife who had some back pains, when we arrived a waiter took us to a seat with a bench, it was near the door so we asked can we sit in the same booths but just a few tables down, they said no that’s for 6 chairs, it was the exact same table size all they had to do was move the chairs and it would be the same, but they refused, so we said no problem how about over here where it’s nice and quiet, it wasn’t that busy either, I walked over and a rude idiot with a ponytail who claimed his name is Faheem said very condescendingly, this is closed! Go over there.
Again he could have been more respectful, also a bit of a silly statement, why do you close a table that’s a few meters away? even if that was the case, he could have been polite about it. Very rude and a bit of a dic*, we were about to leave but decided to not let one prat waiter ruin the night, we then got our food, the sides however didn’t come together, including the sauce which after we ordered they changed because it wasn’t ready, just bad communication with that basic stuff and the ponytail prat who did some fire effects to some people, decided to ignore us as he walked past a few times. To be fair the other waiter was nice and made up for it & checked on us.
Overall for what you pay we just expected politer service that was more accommodating and less dismissive, it’s not the first time we’ve been to a higher value dining experience and the service is normally excellent, not this place though, maybe they were a little judgmental of us, who knows.
In the end before we left I looked at the tables we couldn’t sit on and both were empty lol, again Food wasn’t bad and price was alright, we had the steak with sides & I got the premium lamb chops, Overall not a terrible place, but there’s much better steak options...
