FLIP’N — Restaurant in Birmingham

After seeing some viral hype about this place I thought I’d try it out yesterday. I ordered their Jokesta burger, beef loaded fries, a portion of wings and a portion of tenders. The service was pleasant from the brothers at the till and the food took around 15-20mins to prepare which was fine. The shop was clean, well designed and plenty of seating if you wanted to eat in but due to the location it is quiet and the temperature was cold due to the air con pointing at the seats, so don’t think it would have been too comfortable to eat in. I took dinner home and it was all still hot by the time I started eating. Everything was cooked properly and the fried chicken was lightly crispy. The burger and tenders were really big and everything looked really good. The sauce on the burger was really nice too. In my opinion, they could do better by seasoning the burger and tenders batter which was plain (the wings batter was better and seemed like it was seasoned a little bit), and offer/provide the sauce used in the burger as no sauces were in the bag when I got home and would have been nice to dip the tenders and wings into. In terms of the smash patties in the burger and mince meat on the beef loaded fries, the meat really lacked any seasoning and should have had a healthy sprinkling of salt and pepper whilst cooking to avoid this. Again some sauces as a side would have helped too. Overall, this place is nice and the food really has the potential to be very good with some minor tweaks. They just need more seasoning in the chicken batter, seasoning the smash patties and mince meat on the loaded fries with salt and pepper whilst cooking, and making sure you offer/provide plenty of dipping sauces. Hope they find this feedback...

Bad experience here, drove 3 hours to try it out, smash burger was quite dry and tasteless, however more suace would’ve balanced this out. We asked the guy for a tub of house sauce and he said he wasn’t allowed to give it out….. as if it was a world famous sauce and if it ran out it would be on Sky News. I’ve travelled the world and no burger joint has ever ever ever said they can’t give out more sauce. Genuinely What a joke, we got offered pre packaged ketchup and bbq lol.

The chicken burgers were much better however. Honestly more of the house sauce and this would have been an 8/10.

Experience was really weird too, no background sound in the shop, just the 2 workers talking. This feels like more of a dark kitchen rather than a sit down place. Shame as we drove 3 hours just to try it.

Won’t be returning .

EDIT: seeing as these guys wanna lie, they first replied and said additional house sauce is available and extra tubs are 20P now they’re going back to ketchup and BBQ. If you reviewed the CCTV, the Somali brother asked us as we were leaving ‘ how’s your food’ was I going to ask him for more sauce as we were leaving😂 clearly these guys are insecure.

P.S don’t tell plankton about your “in house special sauce” or he might come...

From the moment we walked in, Usman and Ali made us feel so welcome. Super polite and friendly! The interior was unique, elegant, and the perfect vibe in this weather !

🥤 Drinks: 🍓 Berrylicious Mocktail – Super refreshing! 🍫 Kinder Bueno Milkshake – Not just any milkshake… this was next level! Made with Italian ice cream, and trust me, it was a dream.
