This is a bit of a late review. But I had a booking with them on the last weekend of Ramadan before Eid being next weekend.

When I did my booking at first a guy picked up the phone and when I asked I wanted to book a table for two, he passed the phone to some lady.

I booked and not once did the lady on the phone explained that we had to be there on time. I just asked if the fasting is opening around 6.30pm then book it for 6.30pm. She said book it for 6pm so by the time fasting opens the food will be there since it does takes around 20 mins to prepare the food.

I travelled from London and my mate can came from Manchester, so we aren’t locals. Did our Eid shopping. We got stuck in traffic at Alum rock road, had no idea the traffic would be soo bad.

Anyway we were making our way to the restaurant and got about 6-9 mins late for our table booking. My fault for not calling to tell them we are running late but I assumed that it’s not really late it ok.

So we arrived at the restaurant and then they told us they gave away our table. We explained we were stuck in traffic both Alum Rock Road and also traffic coming into Ladypool road too. They said you have to been here 10 mins before.

I explained when I booked no one told us and my mate also explained there is at 10 mins leeway incase someone is running late.

Then the older gentleman arrives and he was sooo rude and didn’t care. We explained and he turned around and pointed at the people sitting and said all these people turned up on time. So people aren’t allowed to be stuck in traffic or have a valid reason. I saw a review of another person for this restaurant and seem like the same thing happened to them and they travelled from far too.

I learnt one thing is never ever listen to these food reviewers on TikTok. They will of course get a good service, since they are reviewing.

Whilst I was standing, I had scan of the place I can see they only had one table for two people and seem like they gave our table away. It weird though because few weeks before this happened my mate came before but without a booking was told they do not accept walks in and need to book. Which is why we booked in advance.

Anyway when people like them are in business and have no customer service skills or empathy, Especially in the month of Ramadan, then whether the food is nice or not. Not a place you want to be in. With this behaviour and rudeness there will no barakha in their rizq.

I would like to advise all of you if you do followers food reviewers on TikTok and insta then research yourself by these reviews and if any family members friend have been there before. You will get a much...

Laung Laachi, Ladypool Road

It's a Thursday evening around 5:30pm and I fancied some good old desi food but from a place I've never been to before.

Went with my family (5 in total). The restaurant was almost empty and most tables were tables for 4. They denied us the empty table for 8 so we made our way upstairs.

We ordered:

1 portion of poppadoms 1 portion chicken tikka starter 1 portion chicken sheesh kebab 1/2kg boneless chicken tikka karahi 1 kids chicken nugget poppets with fries 3 tandoori rotis 1 naan

The poppadoms were a small portion and were accompanied with 3 dips, mint sauce, mango chutney and chillie sauce. 5/10

The chicken tikka and sheesh kebabs arrived on the customary sizzling platter and both were satisfactory. The tikka was tender and succulent and the sheesh were equally as juicy. However, we were not given any more sauces to accompany these starters which has brought the rating down to 8/10

The 1/2kg boneless chicken tikka karahi, after the disappointment of the size and weight of this karahi the positives are that it had the perfect blend of desi flavours & spices and it really got the Juices flowing. The only other major negative was that it was a bit too salty! 7/10

The tandoori roti went perfectly with the karahi. It was delicious and cooked to perfection but the size let it down 7/10

The naan was fluffy and tasty but again very small 5/10

The kids meal did not arrive and we had to remind them a couple of times that we are still awaiting it. It came near the end and was nothing to write home about. The fries were decent but could taste the over-used oil in them 5/10

Customer service 4.5/10

The food sheikh gives this establishment an overall rating of 6/10 and says: give it a try if you love desi food but tell them in advance to go easy on the salt and remind them repeatedly of the items you ordered.

Restaurant Review: Laung Laachi

If you’re looking for a place that delivers bold flavors, warm hospitality, and an authentic Pakistani dining experience, Laung Laachi is a must-visit. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an incredible meal.

Food:

Kebabs: The kebabs here are a standout. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and grilled to perfection, they come with just the right amount of smoky char. Whether you go for the classic seekh kebabs or the succulent chicken tikka, each bite bursts with spice and flavor.

Chicken & Lamb Curry: The curries at Laung Laachi don’t just meet expectations—they exceed them. The chicken curry is rich and velvety, packed with deep flavors from slow-cooked onions, tomatoes, and aromatic spices. The lamb curry is equally impressive, with tender, fall-apart meat that soaks up every ounce of the thick, flavorful gravy. Pair it with their fluffy naan or fragrant basmati rice, and you’re in for a treat.

Service:

The service at Laung Laachi is just as memorable as the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and eager to make recommendations. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a regular, they treat you like family. The wait times are reasonable, and the food arrives fresh and piping hot.

Overall Experience:

Laung Laachi strikes the perfect balance between tradition and taste, offering a dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty curry, sizzling kebabs, or just a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place has it all. Highly...

⭐ 1 Star Laung Laachi – Ladypool Road Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. The platter looked presentable but tasted awful. The curry was overpowered by cinnamon and lacked any real flavour. The biryani was clearly reheated in a microwave, rice wasn’t fresh, and the kebabs had an unpleasant smell. The only decent item was the Gol Gappe. If I’d known they were serving Zio beverages, I wouldn’t have gone there at all. Only one staff member was working, and it took nearly 10 minutes just to get a menu, then almost an hour before my food arrived. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed, running around trying to manage everything, but service suffered badly. When I complained and asked for fresh food, she casually admitted the platter wasn’t fresh, no apology, just “I’ll ask the chef to make it again, it’ll take 30 minutes.” At that point, it was clear there were serious issues with food quality and hygiene. Overall, a horrible experience. Poor service, poor food, and questionable food safety. Definitely wouldn’t return or recommend.
