I am writing this review after visiting this establishment purely by accident a couple of months ago. I have come back here many times to try different things and I must say the cooking reminds me of home cooked food. The Owner Mr Saeed knows the importance of customer relations and is a delight to speak to. In my dealings with him and his staff i have found them all to be professional, soft spoken, not arrogant and placing the needs of the customer paramount. I have even asked Saeed sb for off the menu stuff like a good old helping of ( Alloo Matarr Gajjar ) and wallah it appeared one day by magic. I have been to many Pakistani restaurants but this one i frequent more for its ambience , cleanliness and customer service. The Kitchen is open which to me inspires confidence in ones cookery.
For my time in Birmingham ( however long it is ) this will be the restaurant of choice for me and my wife. The food has been standardised to repeat itself with the same great quality more or less every time. If something perhaps falls a bit short ( its life these things happen ) instead of being defensive as most places become - Saeed Sb will listen and turn it into a positive conversation and strive to improve. You cant ask anymore from a restaurant.I have actually stopped making Pakistani food at home - when i have a urge - i just go to Chai and Chaska.
People have different expectations and Asians are a hard crowd to please but to distill pricing, quality and great customer service into such a nice package is commendable.
Polite word of warning : If you get addicted to this food too much , you will be running on your...
Read moreIm a big supporter of local small businesses but our first ever experience here, sadly was not a good one. I wanted a place to take my wife and kids to have lunch and this place caught my eye driving past. We sat down and order wasn't taken until 20 minutes of sitting at our tables. Finally once ordered we was waiting another 30 minutes and felt I should ask how long and was told 2-3 more minutes. The old man (who I think is the owner) was very rude towards his staff who felt they had had enough from being bossed around. I asked the waiter how long is the food going to be and the boss walked over and told him to stop chatting and get back to cleaning tables. Eventually after another 20 minutes I had to leave as the service was appalling and the food hadn't arrived. The old man couldn't care less and just charged us for the orange juice we drank and let us go out the door. What a complete waste of time. Maybe he should retire and let someone else run this for him as I genuinely do believe their food...
Read moreMy wife and I are very strict in reviews as we both cook well. Tried this place today first time and it did not disappoint. We bought the daal makhni with roti, mutton krahi with boiled rice, 2 x karak chai and mango lassi. (The lassi needs to be kept cool always as the ice didn't cool it even after).
The food was really good, tasted very authentic and is what I would expect from a proper Pakistani cuisine. They didn't give the salad, chutney and achaar which it should have been provided with our order, which they seemed to have forgot or something. Please remember to pay attention to such things as it's important for paying customers, that you know your menu well.
The portions were great and the karak Chai was spot on. We've eaten at plenty other Asian places and we would say, this was the best in this cuisine. I hope they serve this quality consistently as we will recommend and come again in future. We expect you don't forget the...
