If ever you want good Turkish food, great value for your money and big portion size food come to Lokman Sofrasi! But do be careful about how much you do order, you might order more than you can handle, like I did! Those picture I took are proof! The staff were very happy to package the left overs for me to take homeđ The food was delicious, the starters were accompanied by fresh salad, 2 dips (1 yogurt based and 1 fresh chilli, very spicy but delicious!) presentation skills were good, as seen on the pics I posted. The fresh pizza type of starter was quite nice, along with the main which was a Falafel based dish, the only complaints I have is that, the falafels were a bit dry, hard and not moist enough for my palette, therefore were not as flavourful as they could of been, the taste was decent but the flavours could of been better if it spent less time being cooked. I enraptured a great experience with the staff, whom were friendly and accommodating. I was greeted with a smile when I entered into the restaurant, as the place was not busy at the time (I did this on purpose to avoid the rush!) the waitress gave me and my friends the choice on where to sit. We were unsure on what to order as this was our first visit and the waitress was very informative of the food we asked her about and was happy to make recommendations to aid us in the decision making process which we were very pleased about. When we did order she informed us on the duration of the food to served which I felt was a nice touch. As it was a Friday, it became very very busy, the whole restaurant became full in the space of an hour, unfortunately one host was off sick, which I later on realised after talking to our waitress. In which I was very surprised because the service delivered was excellent, even though the restaurant was at its busiest of that evening, the staff were very attentive, and checked up on us frequently, and their one member of staff that was off sick on that day, well the loss was not felt, they held down the service pretty good! I am happy to call this my new local...
Read moreI drove back, returned the order, and they offered to replace the missing items, but I pointed out that the hot food was now cold, so that was a pointless suggestion. I didn't want a replacement; I wanted a refund, and I had to request one five times, worsening the issue.
After all of this covid drama, lockdowns, and so on, I tried again in the last 7 months for a takeaway lamb shish in a wrap with salad, chilli sauce, and pickled peppers. This was extremely disappointing, as I had experienced it numerous times prior to my most previous major issue in 2019. Although the prices appear to be the same, the portions have shrunk. There was more wrap than meat or salad, they added garlic sauce, no pickled peppers, and I had to unwrap the entire thing to find the very small pieces of lamb.
I tried again for a sit-down meal; the lady / floor manager was pleasant to begin with; I requested a lamb shish with no rice or bulgur, only chips, and an Efes. She completely forgot my request, she brought the lamb shish, with the rice and bulgar and forgot the chips, she insisted it was included however I did not want it on my plate and had to ask her to take it away to remove it and bring the chips I requested, the chips are on the menu as 'chips' however they now come with skin on which I do not like and wouldn't have known until they arrived. At this point, the floor manager became quite abrupt and made me feel like I was being difficult; I declined to continue eating in the restaurant, but she was adamant on charging me full eat-in price for the meal I ended up taking away and an incomplete meal due to the chips being unacceptable. In this scenario, there was no real customer care or service; the floor manager grabbed my Efes and poured it into a coffee cup, and it was clear she just wanted me to pay the full eat-in price, leave with a salad and a few pieces of...
