KIN Erdington — Restaurant in Birmingham

Place looks lovely and I was so happy to have a place sell korean/thai food as I am accustomed to a chinese takeaway as I grew up in one, and its great to have something different. I am told the ordering on the phone was difficult as it seemed maybe the girl was new? I tried to order online too but it kept kicking me out so gave up. My fave thai dish is the massaman curry and i love korean fried chicken! So this is what I ordered together with the pad thai, crispy tofu and korean bulgogi. Crispy tofu and the fried chicken in the soy garlic were delicious, the massaman curry flavour was good but they use sliced beef instead of stewing beef, not what im used to but was ok, potatoes were abit too al dente. The hot and spicy fried chicken was not cooked with gochujang so I was a-bit disappointed, tasted a bit like cantonese chicken with a kick but nice that they use thigh meat. If they just added the gochujang, this would have have been 10:10! The bulgogi was not bulgogi, tasted like beef with green peppers. Pad thai lacked depth but was edible. The food was good overall but not actually thai or korean. Kind of expensive for basically a Chinese takeway, but not knocking Chinese takeways as we love them! No freebies unlike the Chinese’s, spent £55 so thought I might get some crackers. This is just my honest opinion and may be the case as I have been spoilt by authentic thai and korean food and am all too familiar with Chinese food...

Possibly the worst takeaway experience I have had in recent memory. Ordered food at 6:20pm this evening, and was delivered around 7pm. When we checked the order it was clear that items were missing, and the receipt with the food had a different name on. Went out to the driver and explained and he confirmed that the wrong order had been delivered. He contacted the restaurant to advise, and said that he would take the food back and re-deliver our order. At around 8pm we had still not received our food, or had any communication from the restaurant. We called the restaurant, service was dreadful again, staff had no idea what was happening. Asked for a refund, and was advised it would be some time next week? Staff seem like they had no training, and did not care! Now I am writing this review at 8:25pm, hungry, and £54 out of pocket. Wouldn't order from here again if it was free, will be telling all my friends and family to stay away too. Will most likely have to do a chargeback through my bank, as I doubt they can organise a refund if they can't even get an...

Got this off user eats, didn't know what to expect but it was so nice! We had the pad Thai, bulgogi beef, Thai starter and korean fried chicken (soy garlic flavour, and I'll admit, the flavour options in that section is what drove me to actually order, far too many places say they do korean fried chicken but its just normal chicken with a slightly spicy bbq sauce, but the second insaw they had sweet and spicy and the soy garlic I was sold, I went with the soy garlic because it became my favourite after a holiday in Seoul a few years back so was super happy to see real korean fried chicken.)

The prawn toast in the starter selection is the best prawn toast I've ever had. Like everything was nice, the fish cake also stood out, but that prawn toast was so good. But yeah, everything was amazing and I am excited to order again and try some more dishes! Loved my Thai milk tea too, the bottle...
