I had bookings for Sholay Event 16-08-2025 for which i am deeply dissapointed with the lack of waiters, we arrived there at approx 7.10pm we ordeeed drinks which arrived at 7.30pm for which i have a reciept of time.. straight after we ordered our food for 2 of us, we waited an hour for the food at that time more people arrived wirhout bookings, extra person was sat at our table for which we made allowances. There was so many people there that had arrived without bookings, the 3 waitresses couldnt cope with it, it was a health and saftey issue.. the place was so over crowed.then they misplaced our order for food we asked the waitress she said it was very busy hence the delay she took our order again around 8.30pm .nothing arrived by 9.45pm.we went to soeak with the manager who was very rude and arrogant and shrugged us away as he was more interested in taking videos of the event.. when he finally came to us after we refused to pay for the food he tood us we were lying that we had not arrived at 8pm He tood us that to wait and hour for food was quite normal , but it was almost 2 hours from time we ordered, the other lady sitting on out table also did not recieve her food… instead of being appologetic the manager was very rude and arrogant saying if you not going to eat then leave the pub…we have never exoerienced anything like this in our lives… this is unacceptable behaviour and will not be going there again…The waitresses are not to be blamed as they were trying to do their best….. very bad service...

Welcome to Lime n Chilli. A pub, turned Indian Restaurant that is becoming a Birmingham legend. This city centre Indian restaurant, alongside amazing restaurants Asha's, Varanasi and Pushkar, has been shortlisted in the British Curry Awards 2021! It's a huge venue. It has that traditional brummie restaurant feel to it. It also still feels like a pub. The toilets are still in the old pub style. The owner intends to spruce up the interior. I suggested go over the top with traditional Indian decorations. Take a leaf out of Rajdoot's bag. Lime n Chilli is advertised first and foremost as a place for families. The owner informed me that they have karaoke nights and bands performing on stage. They also have mass gatherings for special occasions. There is a licenced bar serving popular beers on tap. As mentioned, the service was sensational. The owner was happy to chat about his background in Mumbai, on cruise ships, London and recently Birmingham. I'm happy he chose our beautiful industrial city. The menu is more exciting than the average British Indian restaurant. There is excellent selection of Indian street food dishes available that you have to try. Food is cooked to perfection. I paid less than £20 for food that would set you back £10 more if you ate in the city. Given it's 2 miles from the centre, it's convenient to get to. You could even consider walking there. It's great we have such fine institutions like Lime n Chilli...
Read moreOrdered a meal from this restaurant today. Never ordered from here before but I had high expections. I ordered Chilli Paneer, Massala Chilli Mogo, Massala Chips, Kadai Paneer with Roti. Chilli Paneer - Absolute Rubbish! plastered in way too much sauce, very overpowering,! No cashew nuts and tasted very sour. Looked and tasted like a sour curry rather than a starter! could not finish and threw in bin. Massala Chilli Mogo - same as above, absolutely plastered in that sauce, no balance in taste and actually seemed undercooked! threw in bin. Massalla Chips - average, nothing special..was hungry so I actually ate all of these! Kadai Paneer - sauce was okay but the Chef seems to be putting very big pieces of onion and peppers and stuff in it! You may as well not even cut these and put them in whole!!! some of the onion and pepper pieces were too big to put in my mouth! what is wrong with your Chef!!???? Overall - very disappointed! They should be ashamed of themselves! Their Chef is not a professional and I strongly suggest they sack him and get a proper Chef or they send him to a proper cooking course. I have tasted much better many many times and this was the worst Chile paneer and Chile Mogo I have ever tasted! Sadly, I will not be ordering again and stick to safer options rather than try...
