I recently visited the this restaurant and tried their Chhole Kulche as well as the fixed vegetarian thali. The thali was nicely presented and included roti, a portion of sabji, rice, dal, a sweet treat in the form of gulab jamun, and a side of salad. The flavors were quite satisfying overall, though I did find the sabji a little on the salty side. However, the freshly prepared paratha stood out—it was served warm and soft, which made the meal feel even more homely. The service was polite and helpful, though it seemed that they might need a few extra staff members. At one point, we had to wait about 5–10 minutes before someone came to take an additional order, which slightly slowed down the experience. That said, once attended to, the staff made sure everything was served properly. The seating area is quite spacious and comfortable, allowing you to enjoy your meal in a relaxed environment. Considering the quality of food, portion size, and the overall atmosphere, it’s definitely a good spot for authentic vegetarian Indian food. With a little improvement in staffing, this place could be excellent.

Most Unwelcoming ! Barrier inside so you can’t grab a seat to eat. Veg thali was £9.95 the portion size is what you see in the attached picture. So called green salad as you see on small plate is £2.50. This place used to be packed with visitors but now only couple of people were sat inside during busy lunch hour ! I am sure this place will close down soon due to its miserable management & services. Not visiting here again for sure ! Would not recommend at all. Waste of your money and time.

Very slow service in the afternoon, poor little boy was running around all the tables. Ketchup and mayonnaise bottles don't look very hygienic, some other tables and ourselves sent back dirty glasses and plates to be replaced. Overpriced and false advertising, Punjabi samosas are only 50p to take away, they tasted just ok... tea came out far too late. Disappointing experience and wish we went to the place further down.

Chandi Chowk on Soho Road offers a glimpse into traditional Indian dining, but my recent visit was a bit of a mixed bag. I'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars, as the experience was a little frustrating despite some promising aspects. The first thing that caught my eye was the small stand outside, where fresh jalebi was being made. The smell was incredible, and I was tempted to try some. A quick enquiry about the price revealed they were £9 per kg and made fresh to order. I didn't want a full kilo, but I did spot a few pre-made ones that were still warm to the touch. I bought a few of these and headed inside to pay. Inside, the restaurant was clean and seemed to have a good number of happy diners enjoying their meals. The menu was extensive, with a focus on traditional Indian dishes, although I didn't see many street food options. As I was paying for the jalebi, I noticed some tempting-looking bread pakora. They were cut into triangles, and I decided to grab a couple. I didn't realize at the time that they had a filling of mashed potato with a distinct minty flavour, which had been coated in a pakora batter and deep-fried—a unique twist! This is where the frustration began. The assistant took my two pieces of bread pakora to the back, and after a couple of minutes, came back out and said it would be "two minutes" to warm them up. Ten minutes later, I was still waiting and had to go back outside to check on my order. The assistant then went to collect them, and I finally got my warmed-up pakora. While I understand the need to serve food warm, the long wait for something that should have been a quick transaction was annoying, especially since all I wanted to do was pay and get on with my day. Overall, Chandi Chowk has a good vibe and seems to be a popular spot for dining in. The jalebi was a delicious, warm treat, and the unique bread pakora was a pleasant surprise. However, the wait time for a simple item really dampened the experience for me. If you're in the area and have some time to spare, it's worth a visit to try their traditional menu and see what you think. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, even for...

unorganised restaurant! very rude staff!! The staff don’t no what they doing giving out wrong food this is the second time we have been here on both times services has been very bad waiting for food! Me and my son got our aloo paratha first my other two boys waited half hour for their plain paratha but end up eating my aloo paratha instead because they were very hungry! We kept saying to staff were are the kids food and my husband food as well they just walked passed our table with attitude! My husband ordered Amritsar koucha that came after 40mins we asked for our tea like ten times then right at the end when we all finished then they gave panner paratha with tea with no apologies at all!! stuck up lady! We cancelled our plain paratha! Staff said it’s coming we said no we waited ages and our kids end up eating ours I asked for cold milk for my little boys we waited 15 mins l end up knocking at the kitchen door and made a complain to the chef then the lady comes out with the milk with no apology again! Food was very tasty! The big problem is the manager needs to step in and organise the staff because the manager is hiding behind doors if this was any other English restaurant first they would have said I’m sorry and definitely would have gave discount! Ladies with this attitude doesn’t work in this country especially if you’re running a very busy restaurant needs to be shut down or get proper professional staff rude staff they don’t smile! Managers need new staff step in, please do not go to this restaurant if your very very hungry you will not get your food together it will be separate and you will be waiting very...

Extremely Unwelcoming restaurant, the larger lady extremely miserable & making it obvious that she does not want to serve u or be there, portions are very small but the price is not convinitly, would never go back I would avoid guys both of there miserable faces ruined the day. Guys always be careful off overly exxagerated nice reviews they are usually always fake Update

What a horrible vile restaurant you are making up lies & slandering customers who leave genuine honest feedback, first time i have been on that street & i'm known to the police am i? lol, as soon as we walked in that woman was horrible & miserable to us & gave us horrible service she made it obvious, your saying the same thing about other customers that they didn't want to pay or wanted a discount which i'm positive are lies & now your saying i'm known to the police, do you know slandering is an offence? have you NO SHAME AT ALL?

I believe the place is fitted with mic's where you are listening to peoples conversations, because i never spoke to any of your staff about the food, you need common sense & good service & some decency to go up to customers to ask them about how is the food which you dont have at all Guys fake review you will find a few on here "Reem Mohammad" there is no such name "Reem" & secondly you are not a halal place so it dont make sense I can...
