My entire family would like to thank you for providing excellent catering food for my younger sister’s wedding. We were concerned with some of the facilities at the Marigold as it is a fairly new venue.

The venue did not have hot plate cupboards which are used to keep starters/food warm before serving. Looking back at the wedding this was essential as the “Nikah ceremony” (marriage announcement) was taking place at 2p.m so we knew we were running late. I myself made trips to the kitchen to ensure if we had everything in place to be served for 3p.m latest. I felt as ease when Mishtidesh had used initiative to get around the hot cupboard issue by going beyond their means to ensure all starters for 800 people were kept warm. For starters we had Sheekh Kebab, Fish Pakora, Paneer Spring Roll and Roast chicken.

The general feedback from all function attendees/guests were that all starters, Main dishes & Dessert were delicious. Many of my family and friends were asking about which catering company had provided the food as it was a long time they tasted great food. Some particularly liked King Prawn Saghwala dish as it quite different to the usual dished served at weddings. We were also surprised by the surplus food that was left after serving food to all our guests and to know this was very comforting that food was not to run short.

I would like to express gratitude to Mishtidesh catering as all my family & friends were pleased with the quality of food you served on my sister’s wedding and no doubt we will refer your company to others and members...

What at first seemed like a possible mistake, turned out to be an obvious attempt to scam people! I went to purchase something for takeaway, the man at the counter said the bill was £10.50. He held out the card machine so I could tap for contactless payment, I couldn't see the card machine screen as he held it away from me. He then handed me the VISA debit receipt, luckily I checked and it said £12.50. I told the man that he charged me £2 extra, his response was strange. Not apologetic, didn't seem surprised. So he took £2 out the till I realised the coins he gave me one of them was a euro!! Again he wasn't fazed by being told he had given me a euro. Now I know how tills work, if a customer gives you non legal tender then you keep it separately in a section in the till away from the other pound coins. But you're not supposed to attempt to get rid of it to another customer! I shudder to think how many people go in here to pay contactless each day, adding an extra pound or two to every transaction surely tallies up for the business. I will never be returning here. If you choose to go here, be very very careful and check the amount on the card machine before giving them your money....

They catered for a Wedding on 25th October (Marigold Banqueting, Birmingham B6 7AJ), unfortunately part of the starters weren't cooked or reheated correctly, and the Chicken Jalfrezi went off completely, most people at the venue kept complaining about the foul smell from the chicken, that smelled like a someone with bad diarrhoea had crapped their trousers .

When the Caterer was quizzed about why the food wasn't up to standard, and that a lot of people complained about the off-putting smell, their response was "I challenge you to taste the chicken curry in my van and tell me it's gone off." Not quite the best customer service, considering every table in the Marigold banqueting suite's two halls complained about the "Ganda smell" from the food. Not only that but they ended up sending out bowls full of Oil in the meat dish, which looked to be 60% oil, and about 10-20% meat.

I would never use this caterer for anything that required 500+ guests. They say they have experience. But it looks like they cooked a lot of the starters 3-4+ days earlier, to make the wedding day. Try elsewhere.
