Nando's Birmingham - Perry Barr — Restaurant in Birmingham

We would have expected some decent service standards but the service here is just awful. We arrived at 8pm on Thursday to show it wasn’t even a peak hour day/time!

Starting with there was a queue of people inside but no one from staff came to see if new people were added and I had to ask after waiting 5mins if there was actually someone manning the queue. To which I got a reply to wait. Then on food ordering wise(needed to use NHS discount ) the manager was at the till and and she told me to wait while she took some cakes out. After waiting 2 mins she told me to queue behind a lady who was being served by another staff (wasting my time there). All the while another table staff came to ask for the menu by rudely gesturing to my family to pass it without saying anything, no please or Thank you. Thereafter if we raised our hand or asked politely to staff for attention no one batted an eye, one of the male waiters serving adjacent table looked at us when asked but did not acknowledge and just went. Then came the order where we ordered the family platter and the leg pieces were under cooked and inside some areas were very raw. After highlighting to the manager she tried to defend it and say this was an area which had a vein! We had to politely say this was not the area (we know anatomy pretty well). Then proceeded to blame us why I didn’t tell her earlier as soon as the meal was served! I had to once again say the leg pieces were the last bits on the plate we picked up, how would I have known it was raw! So, no apologies from her and blunting said another piece will take 20mins to cook, I had to say I don’t want another piece but to highlight the issue. Anyway she then asked if we finished, took the plate and said would let management know by sending pictures.

I would give 0 stars for service if I could. The rest of the food was fine and Halal. That’s the only reason for the positive stars. Otherwise for such poor service I wouldn’t recommend...

Ok so first time visiting the Nando’s at Perry Barr one stop shopping centre. Place was nice and clean as expected for a new place. Staff who seated us were pleasant and helpful. No issues with ordering. We ordered 2 pitta meals with 1 side and after 20mins we grew concerned. I approached the till and receipt taken from me and was told ‘it’s coming’ 😳 ok so 10mins later we get our food with missing side. No big deal it finally found its way to the table. On the plus side the food was nice and hot but we were slightly suspicious of the chips as they didn’t seem to be the usual Nando chips and were more like a thick McCaine frozen chip or something anyway overall everything was ok in the end. I don’t think we would return to the perry Barr site as I feel they were struggling even when the place was fairly empty. On a separate rant it’s worth mentioning that most restaurants that are now offering delivery services are prioritising these orders and loose focus of their actual sit down customers. Service was absolutely atrocious, Sharon the manager told us it would be a 45 mins wait until there was a table available I asked if it was ok if myself the 5 children and the other three adults could sit at the table and wait, she said no because the kitchen is under pressure I said I don’t mind waiting the 45 mins to order as it’s difficult with the children. She stated she would not be seating ANYONE for 45 mins so we decided to wait. About 30 SEC went by and a couple came through the door they were told 15 mins wait for a table, then a family of 4 came and were told 15 mins wait so I asked Sharon what’s going on she said ‘that’s the way I want to do it’ so we decided to leave as we couldn’t believe how politely rude she was, as we were leaving another staff member came to get us to come back as she had prepared the table Sharon told her not to seat us whilst Sharon was seating the set of people who had just entered the store.
