Yes its that time again.....Having spent many trips here over the years and have seen this place change ownership and standards significantly.... I felt it was time to hold this place to account...
Despite calling ahead you cant prebook your food you have to arrive queue and pay. This is the most redundant method in th 22nd century. You cant reserve a table nor can you pre order to save time.
You cant enter the cafe unless instructed and well its not permissable to just come sit and drink tea or coffee anymore(why???))..... on entry you will be told to wait behind what looks like a stolen hsbc bank portable barrier...
Whilst waiting there in the first few minute they asked a lady with a zimmer frame to leave as you cant sit to just drink tea and they wheeled her out into the cold as she didnt have enough money for food.
The experience once ushered to our seats was a little lack lustre we were told to order at the counter. We were greated by the usual front of house member Carlos and then led to someone who barely had a grasp of the queens english. After being offended multiple times by the rude an condescending pubescent teen on the till we were told that asking for a substitution of food on any breakfast results in the staff shouting how it is only "garnish" this was including but not limited too the veggie sausages beans mushrooms and tomatoes all of this i was told was garnish and could not be substituted .... i think i lost all hope when i asked if they could change the white bread for Brown and the teen tried to charge extra for this....
On previous visits this place is known for working extra charges into their meals to drive the prices up but the experience today was absolutley disgusting.
We asked for honey to sweeten the tea only to wait 15mins to remind the waiter who forgot then to be told it wasnt possible then subsequently drank the tea cold.
The staff are mentally vacant, poorly trained and appear to be very irritable making simple requests causes commotion and they dont treat vulnerable customers well nor do they appear to care about the art of customer services.
We paid nearly £25 for 2 breakfast and a single cup of tea.... this is astonishing when you consider the cafe is situated in one the poorest areas of Birmingham.
My advice is head on down to Moseley village or anywhere...

I was then told that I was not allowed to eat in as I ordered take out.. I then stated that I cam in and ordered so if I came in and ordered and said that I would lile to eat un but will be back in a bit they then said yes they would have accommodate my request.. I tjen stated that there is spack for me to sit down as the restaurant is not busy.. everyone looked at me blanked faced... Not being funny I did feel racially discrimated as they couldeve accommodated my request expecially as a good will guester..my request to sit down and eat the food that I pre prdered was not out of the ordinary and felt discrimated againt then they tied to tell me it is against the rules for a take out request to ask to me seated.. as previously stated the restaurant had space for me to be seated.. So therefore I had to result in eating me food in my car outside the restaurant. Be very weiry and mindful of the customer service you recieve from this place as I know for sure if I was of the same race my request would have been honoured. A simple request rejected for no real...
