This place is usually great - but tye chicken we ordered was not to standard; we sent it back and asked for a new one. When coming to pay, the manager refused to go through the bill with me in the English-language, and tried charging me half the price for the chicken that was sent back. He then persisted to speak in Kurdish to the waiter and be rather passive agressive when I refused to pay the extra charge on the unitemised bill. I had to remind the man that when dealing with British customers in Britain, I expect him to converse in English and that I do not expect to be charged for a product that was substandard. The establishment is not set up for British patrons and the duty manager should have been addressed with the situation. When asking for the owners name to a fellow waiter, he could not converse easily in English - but expressed how the duty manager was rude.
In general, when the food is good, it os great, yet the customer service is questionable - definitely not to the standard I would expect for a resturant in Britain. It seems that the managers are willing to try and short change British patrons perhaps taking advantage of them not being able to understand Kurdish and are willing to argue with the customer. If a customer is unhappy with the product, then replace it with one of decent standard - and do not charge them for the substandard one: consequently, you are wasting their time by them having to ask for a replacement and for the food to be prepared again. Also, the sale of multipack Coca-Cola...
Read moreHeard good things, popped in to try their food, ended up getting a take out order.
We were served some nice hot lentils (dhaal) type homemade soup whilst waiting as originally we were going to eat in but later decided to take the order home to eat instead as I was tired from work and knew I’d want to ko with a food coma afterwards!
We ordered a large mixed platter for £40 to serve 4. Generous portion size and contained all their grill range on a bed of different styles of their rices, nicely presented and hot. Topped with fresh made soft and fluffy naans. Got their Ayran carton to take away but if I ate in next time I’d try their own shop mixed version out of their mixer machine to see what that one is like. The carton one was very nice and brand I like.
Overall the food was. All really nice, Kurdish cuisine had a different taste to Turkish food so you can’t compare the two even though they look the same. Hot and hearty food for a cold winters night went down well, naans were a pleasant surprise and really soft and fluffy throughout, just needed some sauces I had at home to elevate it for my own personal preference and it really did put me to sleep!
The staff were also really nice and polite, I appreciate the hospitality as they were being really kind to us all the time we were there,...
Read moreAtmosphere Was good, grill food was tasty but very unprofessional approach to customer , offer different food on plate then menu , poor salad and poor customer service , over priced with food for value , will not recommend and never go there again. :((
Ps: sadly I don't have option to reply to owner response, but you can see how rude the owner is, getting personal now, The Mrs have to leave because she was not well, she was very disappointed with the salad, we ask for mix grill, that comes with salad on the bar and have been asked before placing the order ,but mix grill is served with ice burg latuce and onion only , upon complain he said it will be another £7 , what a pathetic approach, fries were missing even shown in price for mixgrill , my daughter did buy a drink as she pleased, and we keep our kids on limted cans not to give too much sugar, but this idiot wouldn't know this , as complain to him means its about money. The worse experience we had, no manners, I hope you lose your customer unless you sort out...
